
Join a Novelli Academy chef for a ‘hands on’ cookery course involving some of Jean-Christophe Novelli’s most delicious dishes. Courses take place at the award-winning Novelli Academy set in the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside, the perfect setting in which to spend time learning culinary skills and preparing mouth-watering dishes to surprise your friends and family!
One Day Cookery Course:
- As part of a small group, spend a day in the Novelli Academy kitchen under handpicked guest Chefs by Jean-Christophe himself
- Learn new skills in an expertly-planned format incorporating both ‘hands-on’ and demonstration cookery
- Delicious lunch and refreshments throughout the day
- All equipment necessary, including aprons etc
- Recipe folder to take away with you so you can recreate the dishes at home
- Allow a whole day for your experience (10.30am – 4pm)

Two Day Cookery Course:
- As above, but incorporating a varied selection of courses over two days
- Delicious lunch on both days
- ‘Tasting’ dinner on Day One
- Allow approx 1pm – 7pm for Day One, and approx 11am – 4pm for Day Two.
You’ll arrive at the Academy and will be greeted by the friendly staff. Then your cooking will begin!
One-day courses: may include a choice of one the following mouth-watering options:

Cooking for the culinary challenged (essential culinary skills)
Autumn delights (seasonal Autumn dishes)
Give us your bread our daily bread (home baking)
Something for the ladies (luscious lunches and supper parties)

Two-day courses: incorporate many different elements and culinary techniques, including:
Bread making basics
Desserts and sauces
Advanced menu preparations
Basic knife skills and cutting techniques
Talk on vegetables and herbs by a gardening specialist.
Please note that certain courses may run more often than others and some may only be available at certain times of the year, as they are seasonal and therefore subject to change.
- Minimum age: 16 (under 18’s need parental/guardian consent)
- General fitness is recommended as you will be standing up for a reasonable length of time whilst doing practical work. You must notify the centre of any food allergies or dietary requirements when booking.
- Since the centre is a listed 14 century building and disabled facilities are not currently available. If you have any disability or illness that may prevent you from taking part in the experience you must discuss this with the centre before booking.
- A tasty lunch will be provided as part of the one-day course. For the two-day course, you will enjoy a delicious lunch on both days and a ‘tasting’ dinner on Day One. Drinks will be available throughout the day/s.
