Every week we take a brief look at the biggest and best new releases on DVD and Blu-Ray. Unless otherwise stated, everything listed below is due for release this coming Monday – so in this case, Monday 13th August – and each title is now available for pre-order on zavvi.com. This week: the Jo Nesbo’s cult smash Headhunters arrives, Dolph Lundgren and Morecambe and Wise both return to our screens and Sean Penn is a burnt out old rocker…

Jersey Shore: Season 4 Box Set [DVD]

When the cast of Jersey Shore goes to Italy, they take a little of Jersey with them. And the birthplace of the Renaissance might never be the same. While embracing all that Florence has to offer – great art, food and wine, cobblestone streets and gelato – they’ve managed to remain true to who they are. There’s plenty of GTL, fist pumping and hair gel – it’s just a little funnier when it’s in a foreign country.

Special Features:

  • After Hours: And The Wall Won
  • After Hours: Meatball Mashup
  • After Hours: Three Men And A Snooki
  • The Reunion
  • Jersey Shore: From The First Fist Pump
  • Jersey Shore: Fashion
  • Confessionals
  • Louie and Joey
  • Bonus Episode – Geordie Shore: Season 2
  • Deleted Scenes

Jo Nesbo’s Headhunters [DVD] [Blu-Ray]

Roger Brown is successful, charismatic and always gets what he wants. By day he is an unrivalled corporate headhunter and husband to his beautiful wife Diana, but by night is a prolific art thief with a keen eye for great antiquities. However, Roger’s ambition soon gets the better of him as he is lured into a dangerous game of cat and mouse when he goes after the biggest heist of his life, only to discover his victim is also a skilled headhunter in the most literal sense.

Special Features:

  • Trailer
  • ‘Behind Headhunters’ featurette

Bad Ass [DVD]

Decorated Vietnam hero Frank Vega returns home only to get shunned by society leaving him without a job or his high school sweetheart. It’s not until forty years later when an incident on a commuter bus (where he protects an elderly black man from a pair of skin heads) makes him a local hero where he’s suddenly celebrated once again. But his good fortune suddenly turns for the worse when his best friend Klondike is murdered and the police aren’t doing anything about it.

Gone [DVD] [Blu-Ray]

Jill Parrish (Amanda Seyfried) comes home from working the night shift to discover that her sister Molly has suddenly disappeared. Convinced that Molly has been abducted by the same serial killer from whom she escaped just a year before, and that by sundown Molly will be dead, Jill embarks on a break-neck ride to rescue her. Racing the sinking sun in a heart-pounding chase, Jill has only 12 hours to find the killer and save her sister.

Red Scorpion [DVD] [Blu-Ray]

Dolph Lundgren is Nikolai – a killing machine – a deadly, highly skilled agent for the Russian army whose brutal efficiency and single minded determination to serve the motherland leaves behind a trail of battered bodies and bloodied enemies. Now Nikolai must infiltrate an African rebel army who seek to defy their new communist rulers and take out their leader, but as he gets to know his enemies and the dignified Bushmen he encounters, he begins to slowly realize that all he has been taught was a lie. This Cold War rebel is ready to turn the tables on his Soviet masters and kick all kinds of ass!

With a body count that leaves jaws firmly on the floor and a healthy disregard for troublesome logic, Red Scorpion is a classic 80s action spectacular that doesn’t let up for a second.

The Midnight Beast [DVD]

The Midnight Beast, sometimes abbreviated as TMB, is a British comedy music group from London, perhaps most famous for their YouTube cover-parody of the 2009 single TiK ToK by American pop artist Ke$ha. The group currently consists of its three founding members, Stefan Abingdon, Dru Wakely and Ashley Horne.

This is the band’s own, self-titled, sitcom, The Midnight Beast. The show is currently set to be broadcast in 2012 by E4. The series will follow fictionalised version of the band members as they attempt to become successful musicians.

Morecambe And Wise: The Movie Collection [DVD]

The Intelligence Men: Morecambe and Wise are special agents 00, oh oh! in this hilarious spy caper. James Bond has nothing to fear when Eric and Ernie get mixed up with Colonel Grant, MI5 and the KGB. Their task: to protect the Ballerina Madam Petrovna, the idol of the Russian people, and God help Madam Petrovna. Her life is in the hands of two of the world’s most incompetent spies, dressed as Ballerina’s and one of them showing off his short fat hairy legs. Intelligence work has never been so funny as when Britain’s best loved comedy duo get involved in the world of spying.

That Riviera Touch: Eric and Ernie star as a pair of traffic wardens, heading for far away shores after giving a parking ticket to someone of royal rank by mistake. They set off in a ‘vintage’ car, and are soon spotted by a gang of jewel thieves who see in Eric, Ernie and their decrepit motor car the perfect cover for smuggling stolen goods. As the two settle into their villa, a rival gang begins to stalk them. Eric and Ernie must foil all the crooks, who become most anxious when Eric wins in the casino and plans to buy a new car!

The Magnificent Two: Not only do our two amigos, Eric and Ernie, find themselves selling toys to make ends meet, but they end up selling them in Latin America. The land where revolutions are the national sport and the señoritas the national past time. Things can only become more bizarre when Eric is persuaded by a hot blooded Latin beauty, and the threat of being shot, to pose as a dead rebel leader…

This Must Be The Place [DVD] [Blu-Ray]

Cheyenne (Sean Penn) is a former rock star who still dresses like a Goth. Now 50, he relives the days of superstardom with young fan and best friend Mary. Living off his royalties he rattles around his grand Dublin mansion until the death of his estranged father calls him to New York. Reunited with his family, Cheyenne discovers a secret that will send him across America. On a journey through the Midwest, full of surreal encounters with an eclectic mix of characters from New York socialites to ethical gun-shop owners, Cheyenne is on the road trip of his life.
