‘Designed by gamers for gamers!’
So the time has finally come, and I think I can safely say it was worth the wait! It may have taken them a while to get round to the gaming part of the presentation, but even before Microsoft got to the partnership with EA Sports the Xbox One was looking pretty darn impressive.
The look of the console is simplistic and ergonomic; rectangular in shape the main body is not particularly inspiring, but with the Xbox One it’s not about appearances it’s about content and power, and this new console has that in abundance.
Created to provide a social media, entertainment system mixed with a gaming console and internet source, powered by voice activation the Xbox One turns on as soon as you give the word “Xbox On”. Designed to fit the fast paced lives we lead, the snap control means you can watch intelligent TV while browsing the internet; play games while the motion sensors map your gestures and body movement, even reading your heartbeat. Jumping from one thing to another, so you never get bored.
The Console has 8GB of ram, USB 30, Wifi direct and cloud technology to create the best possible uninterrupted gaming experience.
With three operating systems, the Kinect, controller and Smart Glass trio give the gamer a truly interactive experience.
Real Vision – the real vision tech dramatically expands it field for a greater line of sight. Plus the all-new active IR camera enables it to see in the dark.
Real Motion – Kinect real motion tech tracks even the slightest gestures, so a tiny squeeze of your hand results in precise control over a game.
Real Voice – The voice tech focuses on the sounds that matter, an all new microphone array makes advanced noice isolation, so the kinect knows who to listen to. You can turn it on an off by simply saying hi!
Claimed to be better than the best controller, the new Xbox One controller has over 40 technology innovations, making it more ergonomic and comfortable. Triggers deliver precise fingertip feedback for a improved experience.
Smartglass means you can control your Xbox One from the palm of your hand, more specifically your smart phone. Smartglass turns your smart phone or tablet into a second screen that interacts with your Xbox One.
“The perfect balance of power and performance, Xbox One takes gaming to a whole new level. Stunning realism.” – Xbox
The Xbox One console will not require permanent internet connection, so you can carry on playing offline, and it will also block pre-owned games. All games will require installation onto the console and individual games will be tied to a user’s Xbox Live account. If a disc that has already been installed on another machine is inserted, users will be prompted to pay a fee to access it.
Working with ESPN you can watch your favourite sport, while checking your fantasy sport scores, you can jump from channel to channel and check the TV schedule at the same time, they really have thought of everything from an entertainment perspective.
Microsoft have also partnered with EA Sports to bring you some advanced and more realistic gaming experiences; specially developed games for the Xbox One: NBA live, Fifa 14, Madden and UFC. EA Sports ignite is the new program set to improve the experience, 3D crowds, intelligent gaming and bring 10 times more animation detail.
