“These kids need somebody to look out for them”
David Wozniak (Vince Vaughn), the man who has 533 children, statistically at least one plumber, electrician and builder in the family and a heck of a lot of birthday presents coming his way. Well I guess this would be the case if he was aware that he had this many children.
The Delivery Man is a viable, plausible and yet impossible story line. It’s an interesting proposition in its own right and an examination of fatherhood and legitimacy. The Delivery Man explores the possibility of sperm donation going wrong. It is alleged that David Wozniak is the father of 533 children due to an error at a sperm bank. Most men are never ready for the news that there are going to be a father of one child let alone this many.
David is still searching for meaning and purpose in his life and the film sets this story well by focusing upon his procrastination. Struck with the news of his potency he struggles to come to terms with the idea of having so many off-springs and with the fact that his protective instincts have just kicked in. I’d say that he’s got his work cut out for him.
The comedy/drama Delivery Man is out for release in cinemas on the 10/01/2014 and stars Vince Vaughn, Chris Pratt and Cobie Smulders. Directed by Ken Scott and has a running time of 104 minutes.
