Pre-order Guitar Hero Live now!

Activision has announced the resurrection of the plastic Guitar with upcoming release Guitar Hero Live. This is the first Guitar Hero game in five years and it comes with a sleek and sexy new guitar, first person visuals and literally hundreds of licensed tracks.

A lot has changed since the last time Guitar Hero was on our virtual shelves in 2010. Unlimited music libraries are available in “the cloud” and live music has grown substantially, oh and I’ve finally gotten over my DJ Hero addiction.

Guitar Hero Live comes with two modes, the first is the traditional mode we all came to love and play with our friends. Feel the rush of performing in a REAL band, in front of REAL crowds who react in REAL time to your performance. You’ll either win the crowd or lose them. Plus, your band mates will also let you know if you’re rocking out or need to pick it up. Fight the stage fright and bring down the house. With Guitar Hero Live, you’ll take the stage in a variety of venues. Experience it all from the intimacy of a small club or the main stage of a massive outdoor festival!

The second mode is new and a bit special, Guitar Hero TV (GHTV) will allow players to have access to a constantly updated range of digital channels which are dedicated to different genres of music. You simply surf the channels, find a tune you like and start playing along on top of the music video. You can compete against other guitarists either locally with friends in the room or via Xbox Live/PSN.

The guitar has been completely overhauled, gone are the five coloured buttons on the fret board on all previous iterations of the guitar and game. The guitar controller was redesigned for the best gameplay across all skill levels. The new 2×3 button layout makes it easier to play with only three buttons, or, on veteran, it starts to mirror what it’s like to play chord shapes with all six buttons, making the game easier for beginners and harder for experts.

The all-new Guitar Hero. One game. Two ways to play.

Guitar Hero Live, where you can rock real crowds with real reactions and GHTV, a continuous broadcast of playable music videos, with a library of hundreds of videos across multiple genres, there’s something for everyone. Make sure you’re one of the first to rock out with Zavvi.com
