Battlestar Galactica on Blu Ray is a revision! It is an absolute masterpiece of action, drama, suspense, and science fiction. I was so taken by the first episode that I couldn’t stop watching it, every day I came in from work and I would put on the next episode, each one getting more gripping! The storyline was incredibly intriguing, and had a twist ending that I couldn’t have guessed in 100 years. In the end I watched all 73 episodes in two weeks; I cancelled my weekend plans and just watched this and nothing else. Since first seeing this a couple of years have passed, and I only recently managed to get the entire series on Blu-ray from Zavvi. So I am now happily working my way through this visual feast once again, seeing things that I didn’t notice the first time around, but this time in High Definition. All the cast and crew (including a few cameo appearances from the original Captain Apollo, Richard Hatch) were well chosen and all complemented each other. Katee Sackhoff’s performance as “Starbuck” was one that stood out for me, for she took a character that had a great deal of history and made it her own. I would highly recommend buying this series to anyone as you will want to watch it again and again.

Amazing Series

A brilliant Blu Ray collection. Hours of high quality and high definition entertainment. This is not just a Sci Fi series, it will appeal to those who love drama, which there is a bucket load generously wrapped around action and Sci Fi elements. Having originally purchased the individual box sets on DVD I was at two minds to buy again on Blu Ray but after seeing some brilliant scenes in High Definition on a 50" screen I immediately changed my mind. One thing I will note is the sound for dialogue is quite quiet in places and can be drowned out by all the actions sounds going on, changing my sound settings helped but sometimes I need to grab the remote to turn down the volume due to extremely loud explosions and other sounds that will shatter your ear drums. A great purchase for any Battle Star Galactica fan and for people who want to watch something gritty mixed with drama and Sci Fi.
