Well, this series does depend on your taste, a lot of people seem to hate it because it's not quite like other stuff they like. I love it! I also love Star Trek and sci fi generally but I'm not all about westerns. I also have a sense of humour and a love of Nathan fillion...that helps! It's a sci fi western, there's lots of humour, some utter silliness and some utterly serious darkness in there too, the stories are put together nicely including the aforementioned and the theme tune rocks! My only grumble was the very first episode at the very beginning made me think I'd missed a chunk of the programme as it was a bizarre start...stick with it though and you'll learn all about the characters...and then buy the movie serenity ...it's all good :)

Always loved this series so now i've got it on Blue-ray i can enjoy a true quality Sci-fi TV series.

The Blue ray quality is very good no need to comment on the content if you like firefly it is better than the DVD version.

a classic watch for any sci fi fan, this series looks incredible on bluray and at this price you'd be stupid not to get it!!

Finally i got My hands on The series on blu ray. It's a must buy!!

The image quality is pretty awesome considering the fact that this was a fairly low budget TV series - the CGI parts are upscaled because back then they were only rendered in SD but for the time and budget, they still look more than acceptable. The audio mix is somewhat lacking but again this has more to do with the low budget origin, than the quality of this particular release. There are some great bonus features, though they are SD only and ported from previous DVD releases, so if you already have those, I think you won't find anything new here.

Space cowboy Nathan Fillion and his motley crew, plucky independents facing off against evil empire, the threat of cannibal crazies from space and creator, writer and director Joss Whedon's superb dialogue, wonderful characterisations and superb handling of a quirky ensemble - what's not to like. This series is a gem and it was a travesty that it was cancelled by the network. Whedon shows all the genius that made Avengers Assemble such a hit, but on a more modest scale and gives every one of the hugely engaging characters a chance to shine and some great lines. He took the story to a new level with the feature film Serenity but catch this bargain package for an intensely enjoyable delight. Stand out episode for me is Mrs Roberts where captain Mal (Fillion) unexpectedly finds himself married. Genuinely funny and some of the sexiest dialogue you will find anywhere. 'Good Bible!' Blu-ray just enhances the visual impact of a series that had real heart!
