Firefly perfectly combines sci-fi with western. Very good characters and an interesting storyline. A shame that it is only on for one season, but a must have for all sci-fi fans.

Exellent on every level

This Firefly Blu-Ray box set lifts an already great looking and sounding series to a whole new level, making it a must have for any collection, regardless as to whether or not you already own it on DVD. The series itself, which you could categorize as a space western, is a perfect blend of action, adventure, and humour, with a little romance thrown in for good measure. The characters are distinct and likeable right from the start, with good (if sometimes cheesy) actors in the roles. Although there are several running threads of story throughout the series, each episode is a separate adventure, so it works perfectly. Highly recomended - you can't go wrong with the Firefly series.

Splendid!

Firefly is in my opinion a very near perfect show with an intricately layered plot and very nicely drawn characters. It is so sad, that the studio-executives just didn´t get the vibe of the show and just wanted to sell the series on the action-angle. Don´t get me wrong - it has action, but there is so much more that this show brings to the table. If you like western, science-fiction, horror or comedy, you should definitely take a look into this series, because it has a bundle of these elements and won't disappoint you.

Hi Def Awesomeness!

It took me nearly 10 years to finally check out Firefly and I wanted to make sure when I did, I did it with the best picture and sound possible and I was not disappointed. The show is brilliant and it's so tragic that it was cancelled before more stories could be told, this set will have you eager for more. Thankfully Joss Whedon managed the impossible by getting his cancelled TV show made into a much needed movie which provides closure for the series. This box set is a must for any fan of great TV and I'd highly recommend it.

Firefly is Joss Wheadon's very much underated and miss understood classic, no aliens, no monsters and no vampires. Everyone was expecting Buffy in space, but instead got a really refreshing futuristic western with more in common with the Outlaw Jose Wales than Star Wars. I didn't get into it myself at first as it is so different, but once you're into the plot and characters you realise it's a classic. Great to get it on Bluray at last and at such a great price.
