I regret not seeing this at the cinema in 3D & in the D-Box seats. A lot of money was spent on the special effects & it shows. They're pretty much faultless. Pity they couldn't stretch it to Bryan Cranston's wig. A very entertaining 2 hours & at a great price. Not perfect but still recommended.
Came well wrapped and a great price too
Although some of the Critics didn't rate this film very high. It is good entertainment and keeps kids happy.
John Carter is a much underrated film that looks very well in high definition. It has a good story with great effects and beautiful scenery. It evokes a believable alien world. It gives a good couple of hours of high class escapism.
I loved John Carter when I was a kid and this is actually a pretty good interpretation of the book. It's worth watching.
I understand that John Carter did not do well at the Box Office and I can understand a little why. The lead male character came across as very dull and without any charisma, which is not what you expect from a Disney film. However, I enjoyed the film overall (Hence the 4 stars) and it is good entertainment for the family. This is a good Blu-ray buy but it could have been a lot better.
John Carter is a fun movie with great special effects.
I really enjoyed watching this! Don't rely on the film critics, this film is awesome!
John Carter is quite an entertaining film with many special effects. It's a lot like Star Wars.
John Carter is enjoyable fun, great FX! If you like Sci-Fi you should enjoy this.
John Carter is a brilliant movie. My wife who doesn't like Disney movies enjoyed it tremendously!
If you like Avatar, Star Wars etc... then you'll love John Carter, a very enjoyable film from beginning to end!
I saw John Carter in the cinema in March and thoroughly enjoyed it. Two hours passed by like it was twenty minutes. This should have been a blockbuster. It was probably shown too early in the year, and given poor marketing - unusual for Disney. Blu-ray DVD from Zavvi for very little money including P&P - fantastic! It's a must-buy and see, this film. It's fast-paced, and has a great story! Amazing CGI effects, William Defoe chewin' the scenery, half the cast of HBO's Rome, and most of them are characters you will like and actually care about, not to mention the cute martian doggy. It makes a certain other Sci-fi film from this year, look like a big pile of the brown and steamy stuff.
