Jurassic Park:

The Lost World: Jurassic Park:

Malcolm, his paleontologist ladylove (Julianne Moore) and a wildlife videographer (Vince Vaughn) join an expedition to document the lethal lizards' natural behavior in this action-packed thriller.
Jurassic Park III:
In need of funds for research, Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) accepts a large sum of money to accompany Paul and Amanda Kirby (William H. Macy and Tea Leoni) on an aerial tour of the infamous Isla Sorna. It isn't long before all hell breaks loose and the stranded wayfarers must fight for survival as a host of new -- and even more deadly -- dinosaurs try to make snacks of them. The Jurassic Park Trilogy is great old school filmmaking in HD! The transfer to Blu-ray is quite stunning. A must have for any Jurassic Park fan.

Phenomenal, even after all these years...
After owning the 3 film box set on DVD I was wary about upgrading to the Blu Ray versions of the Jurassic Park trilogy. I was concerned that the new format would struggle to add anything. However, I shouldn't have worried; the effects look so much better in high definition, and are testament to the use of models over CGI. It has to be said; some more recent movies which over use computer graphics don't transfer to High Definition as well as this. In addition to the main features there are loads of extras; easily more than I've seen with any other film. A must for fans.

I ordered these Jurassic Park Blue-rays as they remind me of my childhood, and they are great films. The boxset looks nice, but it's a bit flimsy, and the packaging Zavvi provided, left it quite beaten up. Not great for a blu-ray collector.

I won't go into the film stories themselves has most of you will know that already and IMBD is a great resource for that. The quality of the transfers are good. Picture quality is generally excellent though some of the night shots in The Lost World were grainy. The 7.1 Audio certainly is a step above the DVD version infact it is stunning. With plenty of extras if that is your thing stunning sound and great picture quality this is a great buy especially the price Zavvi sells them at!

So far I have only watched the first film on this new Blu-ray set. I have to say the audio is fantastic, although it is on the DVD. It is the video that lets it down. Grainy scenes from particular angles both inside and out really disappoint. The video in the helicopter near the beginning is just plain woeful to say this is Blu-ray. In other reviews I read the print for the second two films is improved. I hope so, as I feel really let down after the first film.

I found myself really wanting this set, and having seen the transfer on Jurassic park, I wish I hadnt bothered, the picture transfer is at times quite poor, the DVD version picture is superior to this, but on the plus side, 7.1 on all three films... and the picture is better on the second and third, but from a major studio you would expect a much better picture, or some effort into re-mastering it... not very good.

Love It
The one thing I love about the Jurassic Park films being released on Blu-ray is just how good non CGI shots can look, and this trilogy is no exception. The CGI effects do look great, but it's the live action stuff that makes your jaw drop to the ground. Seeing every pore of the skin, every bead of sweat on close ups just make you realise how much was missed when you first watched these in the old days of CRT televisions. The first film looks great, the second is pretty much the same, but the third film has a level of detail that is stunning. Three great films, in fantastic visual quality, and a sound quality that is second to none - A must buy!

Jurassic Park Ultimate Trilogy
This "Ultimate" Trilogy Blue Ray Box set contains all three Jurassic Park films. The story line we all know is the creation of dinosaurs using DNA from an mosquito which has been encased in amber for many years. Crazy but entertaining. The audio is Multi Channel DTS Master and is absolutely excellent, if a little loud. Those dinosaur roars and the rain really do fill the house. The clicking of the dinosaurs claw on the floor etc. I cannot fault the audio but the visual is somewhat disappointing in the shadows. The outdoor scenes are fine, much better than the normal DVD but those indoor shots of the lab scene are really bad, as if the lighting was too weak making the picture very grainy. Considering this was such a big Speilburg films I expected much better picture quality on Blu Ray. There are loads of extras on all three discs which are very interesting and the quality is very good. I bought this set on special offer and it is sort of OK except for those badly encoded scenes (Lab scene for example) which do spoil what is an entertaining trilogy.
