A good collection for a modest budget

It seems a no-brainer to pick up the Nolan Collection for 4K Blu-ray, considering Nolan's preferential treatment to analog film and his involvement with his home video transfers - and, for the most part, it is. There are some failings of the transfers (including some egregious aliasing in Batman Begins, which has been detailed in Blu-ray Forum in the past and looks quite suspect in motion), but the films themselves are generally a major upgrade from their Blu-ray counterparts. If you prefer having Digital Copies for your films, you may find you're better off buying the films you like independently, as this collection will not have them included. That, plus the lack of individual artwork for each film (as they are packaged in three large Amaray cases detailing 4K, Blu-ray, and Bonus Features respectively) makes this a little more niche than might otherwise be preferred for the discerning customer. With that said, it's still a worthwhile purchase, especially if you like Nolan's films -- it features a bulk amount of his work (missing, of course, Insomnia and Following in terms of his major filmography), and as the special features are mostly duplicated -- with the exception of the Dark Knight Trilogy exclusive material -- you'll be left satisfied with this collection.
