Robert De Niro gives the performance of his career as Jake La Motta, a boxer whose psychological and sexual complexities erupt into violence both in and out of the ring. Joe Pesci and Cathy Moriarty are unforgettable as the brother who falls prey to Jake's mounting paranoia and jealousy, and the fifteen-year-old girl who becomes the most prized trophy. Raging Bull garnered eight Oscar nominations, and won two, including Best Actor for De Niro.

There is no doubt that this film is a must have on Blu Ray, it is stunning quality. However, you can choose between the Blu Ray 30th anniversary edition or the normal Blu Ray edition. The 30th edition is really for the hardcore fans of Martin Scorsese and his work. It comes with 4 new features on the extras list, most of which are modern videos about looking back at the film which I very much enjoyed. There isn't any special case or booklets, just the standards. The only thing to think about is whether the small amount of extra content is worth the extra money. If his goes on sale and there is only a small price difference, then go with this one.
