There's a new law enforcer in town... and he's half-man, half-machine! From the director of Total Recall and Basic Instinct comes a "sci-fi fantasy with sleek, high-powered drive" (Time) about an indestructible high-tech policeman who dishes out justice at every turn!
When a good cop (Peter Weller) gets blown away by some ruthless criminals, innovative scientists and doctors are able to piece him back together as an unstoppable crime-fighting cyborg called "RoboCop". Impervious to bullets and bombs, and equipped with high-tech weaponry, RoboCop quickly makes a name for himself by cleaning up the crime-ridden streets of violence-ravaged Detroit. But despite his new hardened exterior, RoboCop is tormented by scraps of memories of his former life, and relives vivid nightmares of his own death at the hands of the vicious killers. Now he is out to seek more than justice... he wants revenge!

The Robocop - Limited Edition Steelbook (Includes DVD) is a great steelbook with great artwork. The film itself is an all time classic and goes down as one of the greats. However, the Blu-ray conversion is not the best, and is rather grainy. I have seen better conversions done with films made from the same era.
Robocop - Limited Edition Steelbook (Includes DVD) is simply one of the greatest and most memorable Sci-fi movies ever made - few people know that this is actually a low budget movie and was made under great stress and difficulty, yet the final result is astonishing. The film has many layers and more depth to it than at first glance, as it in fact makes for a humouristic satire of America. The film has not aged a single year! Coming back to it for a re-watch after many years, I was expecting to see with my now-matured eyes a clunky, corny looking Robocop - but no way, jose! The design of the Robocop suit, if you want to call it that, is simply awesome. You look at it as one might look at a prototype model of some new sports car, and the robotic miming of Peter Weller is spot on. It's one of the greatest, most memorable, simply unmissable movies of all time. It's a cult classic.
The Robocop - Limited Edition Steelbook is an excellent steelbook, with inside art as displayed on the website. The package arrived without shipping damage. Unlike many steelbook releases, the BD is region locked to Europe and will not play in my North American PS3. This is a great collector's item.
This Robocop steel-book has a very cool case and is an excellent movie, a true classic. Let's hope they make a Robocop 2 steel-book, full uncut version. The Blu-Ray conversion is very clean, the only fuzzy parts are the news reports, but even the DVD was like that. It would have been great to have more extras, only a trailer features here. This is truly a must have for any Robocop fans!
Obviously this steelbook is a must for any collector, but it's not all good news. The front of the steelbook has the 'ROBOCOP' name embossed, a nice touch. There's a rather average back cover art of robocop and ED209. The inside of the steelbook has a nice graphic of Dick Jones showing off ED209. The Blu-Ray and DVD are nothing to get excited about. This is a 27 year old movie, but the Blu-Ray is region locked to region B. North American buyers (and steelbook collecting is a global phenomenon) are going to be buying this only for the metal case. The Blu-Ray transfer is better than the DVD but Robocop deserves better, this Blu-Ray has no bonus features and average picture quality. Perhaps we should be thankful; with the current obsession for 'teal and orange', a remastered Robocop would probably have a totally different colour palette. If you're a steelbook collector, and a Robocop fan, you won't regret buying this Limited Edition steelbook. But it could have been better.
