Legendary director Luc Besson (The Fifth Element, Leon) transports us to the wild days of early Twentieth Century Paris, where feisty young writer Adele Blanc-Sec embarks on thrilling missions to find exciting material for her book and a cure for her sick sister. She sails to Egypt to raid a tomb that supposedly hides the cure, but what will she do when an army of resurrected mummies get in the way? Back in Paris she finds the city in chaos after a 136 million-year old pterodactyl egg mysteriously hatches. Adele realises she is the only one game enough to take control of the prehistoric bird.

Fantastic movie...

3 stars out of a maximum of 5

I love the movie and wanted the steel book; however the steelbook consists of a steel case with covers stuck to it. It is also also ruined by the 'double play' logo that doesn't come off, on the front. Considering how fantastic the movie is visually, you'd think more thought would go in to something that would attract collectors and film buffs alike! A bit of a disappointment.

Fun!

The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec is a bit of Adventure, a bit of Farce, a bit of Fantasy and a lot of Fun! Louise Bourgoin is absolutely charming as Adèle. Funny, beautiful and an excellent actress. The humour is pretty universal, but definitely has that unique French flavour to it. I really recommend this one!
