Invasion of the Bodysnatchers with a make-over

Total :

The classic sci-fi horror 'Invasion of the Body-snatchers' gets a make-over with this sci-fi love-story written by Stephenie Meyer (creator of the 'Twilight Saga'). Melanie Stryder (Saoirse Ronan) is a human that rebels against an alien invasion. The aliens take over human bodies so that they can exist on our planet. However, when Melanie is implanted with her alien Wanderer, things don't quite go to plan when, instead of her memories being erased, they remain and with the aid of her alien co-host, Melanie/Wanderer escape and seek out the remaining rebels lead by her uncle Jeb (William Hurt). However, the authorities are in hot pursuit and desperate to stop Melanie/Wanderer. Watching the trailer for this movie made me want to buy it but reading the cover lead to me having second thoughts as I'm not really a fan of the 'Twilight' series but once I started watching it, I was pleasantly surprised. With a mixture of the 'Twilight' love interest and the terminator-like pursuit from the aliens to capture Melanie/Wanderer, this makes a little gem of a movie.
