"Mylo Xyloto" is the feverishly anticipated incredible fifth studio album by the world renowned British alternative pop/rock band Coldplay, and is the follow up to their smash hit fourth album "Viva La Vida", which was released in 2008.

The album is a jam packed melodic burst of energy, with catchy tunes, anthemic choruses, brilliantly written lyrics and so much more, which is what fans have all learnt to expect from this band, who just keep throwing out hit after hit. This record shows the band taking more influence from the genre of industrial rock, whilst still retaining that iconic Coldplay sound, which would be nothing without lead singer Chris Martin's distinctive vocals.

Featured on the album is the single "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall", an upbeat and uptempo song with a catchy tune and beat, which brings the band back with a bang. A positive and passionate track which shows Coldplay doing the kind of music they love best. Also included on this record is the single "Paradise", which shows Coldplay incorporating distorted bursts of underlying synth blending in with the melody, which in some parts is led directly by strings, particuarly violin, with group backing vocals on the chorus fusing with falsetto to turn the song in to a transcendant anthem.

Never one to disappoint, this album follows on to the growing discography of incredible records this band have released in their relatively short time in the music industry. Absolutely brilliant. (Cat Emerson)

Great

Mylo Xyloto is Coldplay's best album yet. I definitely recommend it. Each tune/song is just great, and catchy. You'll find yourself singing along without even realising! It's fresh and funky, and in typical Coldplay style, even better than the last album.

Great album

I would definitely recommend this album to either long time fans of Coldplay or for new listener. Mylo Xyloto is more of the same and the production values are very commercial, sometimes bordering on the corny sci-fi but the bass lines and riffs of Charlie Brown and Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall more than make up for the initial feeling of dread. The second track is unfortunately empty and rather bland and this drop in production value tends to creep back towards the end. However as a whole listen, especially from Paradise to Princess of China, the melody soars and it is difficult to not be lost in their weird New York inspired world.

Great

All the songs are so commercial, but that´s the way the band wanted to be and the way I think we like them to play music. Probably the best Coldplay album, with worked songs from the first to the last. Great job.
