Sunstorm - Emotional Fire CD

Hard rock band Sunstorm, the project of Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow, Yngwie Malmsteen) and Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69), were formed in the late nineties. They released their first self-titled album in 2006, which was followed up in 2009 by "House Of Dreams". The groups latest release is "Emotional Fire", and is in essence a relatively straightforward tribute to melodic rock. However, straightforward isn't always a bad thing, and from the first chords of the opening track "Never Give Up", listeners should be in no doubt that they are in for something special. Other tracks of particular note include the hooktastic "Lay Down Your Arms", the uptempo "Torn in Half", and the emotive closing ballad "Follow Your Heart". (Adam Bibby)
