In an epic final that spanned matches both home and away, the nail biting lottery of penalties decided the outcome of the 1983/84 UEFA Cup competition - with Tottenham Hotspur holding the winning ticket in the first final shoot-out, Tony Parks' was the hero saving Arnor Gudjohnsen's penalty to secure a Spurs victory over Anderlecht.
The first leg had ended all square at one each but the Belgian side had looked set to retain the trophy when Alex Czerniatynski scored an hour into the second leg at White Hart Lane. But a late equaliser from Graham Roberts, the magnificent stand in skipper for the suspended Steve Perrymen, made it 1-1 after 90 minutes.
Extra time came and went and with no further goals, the tie finished 2-2 on aggregate. What followed was as dramatic as it gets ending in a memorable finale leaving Spurs to take the trophy home for the second time in the Club's illustrious history.
