Before you watch Battlestar Galactica you should watch the mini-series otherwise it won't make a whole lot of sense. This is an excellent remake that covers most of the plot lines from the origonal but does it better. It beds in the various characters and starts to pick apart the crew of Galactica as they struggle to deal with the loss of their home. You'll also get an introduction to Faith and Loyalty as the big drivers for later on, no matter how you felt about the ending this first season is gold!
