Claymore

Great little collection. Solid artwork and animation, with a vibe reminiscent of Berserk (1998). Unfortunately the last couple of episodes are messy and let the stella proceeding material down. Recommended for action and gore fiends.

Worth the Money!!!!!

Claymore is the most recent of my anime purchases and what a good one it was. The first episode doesn't give credit to what an amazing story you're going to be in for. This isn't me saying that the first episode is a let down, it sets the scene very well but i'd also like to add that you should look at Claymore like chapters in a book and not episode by episode. All in all Claymore is a very good anime. Don't judge by it's cover and name. It's not completely old fashioned and there are some really cool modern aspects to it without being "Fluffy" or "Cheesy" like most anime. I really do have to give this a 5* It's awesome for both Male and Female viewers and I would have to agree that it's age limit is appropriate.

Claymore Collection

I purchased Claymore as Id read good things about the anime, although, to be honest my expectations were low, as I usually prefer more sci-fi oriented anime such as Ghost in the Shell, Appleseed or Cowboy Bebop. Despite this, I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by Claymore. The quality of the artwork is excellent, the characters are interesting, and even the monsters manage to avoid the generic anonymity, prevalent in many series. Based on a manga series, the anime covers the first half of the story, and runs pretty true to the print storyline, up to the last few episodes, where there are a few amendments which allow the animated version to come to a reasonably satisfactory conclusion. I do hope however, that they elect to complete the series as its been really excellent so far. The world of Claymore is a sort-of medieval society where the people are afflicted by powerful shape-changing demons or "Yoma". The only effective countermeasure are the Claymores, human Yoma hybrids that are feared as much as they are needed. This is the story of Clare - one of these demon-fighters, and how she became what she is. However, as the story progresses, it becomes clear that the organisation that created her, has a hidden agenda and that under certain circumstances, the Claymores can transcend their nature and become a more dangerous problem than any Yoma. I highly recommend this series, it's got it all. Good visuals, a great set of characters, and a gripping story-line.

An anime to remember

Me and my friends watched this series together and we all really liked it. It's only flaw is that it's shorter than the comic books, but even then it's still very fun to watch. Perfect for the people who are more into darker stories.

An example of what anime can be.

Claymore should be at the top of your list. Every anime fan should watch this, no matter what, even if you are not into fantasy animes. Solid through out episodes. Every character has a place. No stupid ones that are in the anime just to annoy you. A tight plot with no fillers or anything that has no connection to the main storyline. Awesome art, music, voice acting. I don't really think anyone should read a review about Claymore. Just watch it. A prime example of the cult that anime and japanese culture has become today. This is easily one of the animes that can hook you.
