BOBBY CHARLTON: It can be said, without a shadow of a doubt, that Bobby Charlton is one of the best international footballers that the world has ever seen, as well as being one of the most talented English football players of all times. After 758 appearances, Charlton left United in May 1973 with an incredible 249 goals under his belt. As well as holding legendary unbroken records with United, Charlton also holds England’s goal scoring record as well, with 106 caps and 49 goals. Charlton was also part of the victorious 1966 World Cup winning England team beating West Germany in the final at Wembley 4 -2. To this day Bobby Charlton remains at Manchester United on the board of directors. GEORGE BEST: When the name George Best is heard, everyone knows who he is -whether for his footballing talent and charisma or his controversial lifestyle off the pitch. A common description of his place in football history is summed up by the quote “Maradona good, Pele better; George Best”. Due to his playing style, Best was a hit at United scoring 179 goals from 470 appearances over 11 years until he unexpectedly quit Manchester United in 1974 aged 27. He retired from football aged 37 in 1983. DENIS LAW: Denis Law is one of Manchester United’s true living legends. Laws flair, spirit and genuine love of the game earned him the nickname “The King” and his glorious reign lasted thirteen years. After the Munich Air Disaster, Law was part of the formula that helped rebuild the team. In his 404 appearances he scored 237 goals – making him second highest goal scorer of all time in Manchester United history. In recognition of his impact on the game, he was made an inaugural inductee into the English Football Hall of Fame in 2002. LIAM BRADY: Liam Brady began his career at Arsenal as a schoolboy apprentice in 1971 and turned professional on his 17th birthday in 1973. He helped Arsenal reach three F.A. Cup Finals in a row –winning the final against Manchester United in 1979. He retired from football in May 1990 after having played for a variety of clubs after Juventus. Brady won 72 International caps for the Republic of Ireland scoring 9 goals. He is remembered as one of Arsenals all time greats, playing 307 matches scoring 59 goals and setting up many more. He was chosen as PFA player of the year in 1979. Brady returned to Arsenal in 1996 as Head of Youth Development and Academy Director where he remains today.
