Ricky Gervais directs himself in THE INVENTION OF LYING, a comedy in which everyone in the world tells the truth except for one misfit in the film industry, who after discovering the act of lying, milks it to become the world's most phenomenal performer. Matthew Robinson co-directs from his own script that he and Gervais collaborated on. Jennifer Garner, Rob Lowe, Jonah Hill, and Louis C.K. co-star in the Media Rights Capital production, with John Hodgman, Tina Fey, Christopher Guest, and Jeffrey Tambor rounding out the rest of the cast.

worth watching
Ghost town was a really good Gervais movie and set a bench mark for anything following it up .... The invention of lying doesnt quite make it. The idea for the film is a corker in my opinion and it starts off well enough. Ricky Gervais is so funny and his sence of humour is typical British, dry and cutting. However the film for me is a roller coaster ride, at times very clever and brilliant and then at times groaningly bad. Dont get me wrong because over the corse of the film everything pans out to create a reasonably entertaining movie which at times you will be belly laughing at. Its not Ricky's best work but well worth watching !
