In this series, the inked icons of Miami are tested to the limit, dealing with the enormity of running a business, juggling their hectic lives, and maintaining their credibility as artists. With success comes an intense amount of personal reflection and lifestyle changes and choices.
Ami James is the hot-tempered leader of the gang, determined to keep them all in check. His partner Chris Nunez, the girls' favourite, forever spending big to keep the party going. Chris Garver, the renowned artist and an inspiration to them all. Darren Brass, the little guy with the big beaming smile, always willing, always welcoming and with a penchant for underground graffiti. And loyal Yoji Harada, no longer the apprentice but still the butt of all the jokes.
This second series gets steamier with the return of Kat von D to the all-male team. Bringing femininity and sassiness to the shop, Kat is an incredibly talented artist specialising in portraits. All the way from L.A. she's the party animal who will keep all the boys on their toes!
Miami Ink also tells the stories of the clients who visit the shop and we learn that there is more to tattoos - and the artists - than meets the eye. Yoji finally earns the right to start tattooing, Kat is homesick for L.A., Ami is annoyed Nunez is still spending money 'unwisely', Chris has to decide whether he can carry on due to his back problems, and Darren is nervous at the prospect of the patter of tiny feet. All this while the guys conduct a nationwide search for a shop manager.
Tattooing brought them together, their art sets them apart.
