When the Pritchett, Delgado and Dunphy families agree to be interviewed by a documentary crew, they have no idea just how much they're about to reveal about themselves. Jay Pritchett met the stunning Columbian Gloria when she bartended in a bikini at the pool party he threw for himself the day his wife left him. Now Jay and Gloria are married and Jay tries hard to keep up with his much younger and hotter wife and her passionate teenage son, Manny. Claire Dunphy (Julie Bowen) is having a hard time raising her own family. Her husband Phil is great, except for the fact that he thinks he's "down" with their teenage kids, much to their embarrassment. Mitchell Pritchett and his enthusiastic partner Cameron have just adopted Lily, a precious little baby girl from Vietnam.

This engaging new comedy offers a 'mockumentary' view into the complicated, messy, loving life of three unique families. Steven Levitan and Christopher Lloyd invite you into the sometimes warm and sometimes twisted embrace of modern day families.

Modern Family - Season 1

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

This is a prime example of a sorely underrated show that deserves to be a major hit in the UK, but has been largely ignored. Every character is superbly written and the situations are hilarious. It has the style of a slightly glossier 'The Office' in that the family is being interviewed by a documentary crew but this just leads to some brilliant and thought provoking talking heads. I cannot recommend this enough.

This is the best American TV show ever, which cleverly mixes comedy and drama. Every character is funny in their own way with witty and very funny dialogue. The acting is superb with hilarious situations the characters get into. This boxset contains 24 episodes, plenty to keep you laughing in hysterics, 100% recommendation!
