Nightmare on Elm Street is one of the most classic film series of all time and rightly so - It reinvented the horror genre that had become slightly overused in the period between the 1960's - 1980's and thus lost any real shock because it had become so formulaic. But along came Wes Craven, who had achieved cult status following The Hills Have Eyes, who gave the theme of a murderer who kills children in their dreams and not only a murderer, a child molester who was murdered by the towns residents. Thus, we are given the setup of every parents worst nightmare to tap in to our minds. The first one is thrilling and Craven uses his storytelling magic and his innovative direction to help the film along. But, even though the other films do not have Craven and lose a certain magic, they are highly entertaining and efinintely worth a buy!

A lovely collection of the original Nightmare On Elm Street movies (before the remake comes out!) A bargain at this price. Numbers 1, 3 6 and 7 are the best for me, but all are entertaining. And number 6 is in partial 3-D. No real extras, but it doesn't matter! A great set to scare you all over again!
