Channel 4’s champion of local organic food, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall returns to River Cottage to harvest the best that autumn has to offer. Hugh cooks and tastes the abundant produce from root vegetables and game to fruits from the orchard. The DVD includes a selection of recipes to inspire & salivate over and celebrates the season’s best, whether from the wild, the garden or the shop shelf.
Hugh also catches up with the Bristol smallholders he first met in River Cottage Spring as they harvest their autumn bounty of beetroot, pots, kale, squashes and pumpkins. The smallholders also learn how to bottle and preserve and turn their pigs into salamis, sausages and hams.
River Cottage also stages a grand dinner of foraged food, including bread, fish, meat and drinks. And Bonfire Night involves a celebration for the whole team.
