The much acclaimed TV series Sherlock is superb. A very witty and entertaining take on the classic detective stories which I know very well and love very much. The casting is superb, particularly the actor who plays Moriarty the manic villain. Will order the 2nd series in the near future.
The Sherlock series is amazing, it takes the original source material and puts a modern and welcome twist to the stories. The cast are wonderful, Benedict Cumberbatch excel's in his role as the misunderstood detective and Martin Freeman is glorious as John Watson, he brings gravitas to the role. All in all I would recommend this fabulous series to everyone.
Having just finished series 2 and not having seen series 1, I decided to purchase series 1, it introduces the viewer to John Watson and Sherlock Holmes and how they met and came to share 221b Baker St, it was not quite as good as series 2, but I am glad I have a bit more background knowledge of the pair. Well worth a viewing
When I first heard of this show, I scoffed at the idea. Then I gave the show a chance. I was hooked. This just goes to show that Sherlock Holmes is a work that literally transcends time. Benedict Cumberbatch is the perfect Sherlock Holmes, and Martin Freeman's Dr Watson is equally as impressive. Everyone involved in this series is a genius in their own right, and together they've formed this masterpiece. This is a must buy, even for those who aren't Holmes fans, it's the best British drama series to have been made in a VERY long time. Stylish, intelligent, thrilling. Sherlock Holmes has finally been done justice on the small screen!
Only just discovered the delights of Sherlock. Hadn't seen any of them before but as I love anything written by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss I couldn't resist giving it a go!! Loved it instantly due to the lovely Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch and the added bonus of Mark Gatiss appearing in it too. Couldn't believe the amazing price on Zavvi so nothing to lose. Will definitely be buying the next series when it comes out.

Bringing Sherlock Holmes kicking and screaming into the 21st Century this is a series that shouldn't have worked but instead produced one of the best things on TV. Benedict Cumberbatch stars as Holmes and from his first minute on screen he captures everything about Holmes combined with inventive new visuals that emphasizes his attention to detail, Martin Freeman is also on top form as Watson a doctor injured in the Afghanistan war he is wonderfully cantankerous as the doctor who often can't see Holmes's logic until the final moments of the episodes with Episode 1 providing a darker incite in to the character. This series consists of 3 Episodes: A Study In Pink, The Blind Banker and The Great Game each running 1 1/2 hours long and will have you guessing right until the very end. Special Features include commentary's on Episodes 1 and 3, A Making Of documentary and an alternate version of the pilot episode go watch this and prepare yourself for series 2 coming soon.
