Revealing a brand new storyline for the Resident Evil™ series, Resident Evil™ Revelations sees a return to survival horror, offering a tense and intriguing gameplay experience. Built from the ground up to take advantage of the Nintendo 3DS features, Resident Evil Revelations delivers outstanding visuals that bring the fear to life.
Taking place in 2005, between the events of Resident Evil™ 4 and Resident Evil™ 5, the action centres on BSAA member Jill Valentine and introduces her new partner Parker Luciani. Set principally on board a supposedly abandoned cruise ship in the Mediterranean, Jill and Parker have been sent to search for Chris Redfield, whose last known GPS data positions him as being on the ship. Far from being empty, danger lurks around every corner as Jill and Parker explore the confined space of the ship and must face a menacing new enemy that emerges from the darkness.
Adding a new unique horror setting to the series players will venture underwater as they try to escape the terrifying creatures that are roaming the ship. But even the water does not provide safety as the creatures continue to attack from the depths while Jill and Parker make a desperate bid to make it off the ship alive.
Circle Pad Pro:
The Circle Pad Pro is a new accessory for Nintendo 3DS, designed to increase the way the player enjoys Nintendo 3DS software. It consists of a shell that the Nintendo 3DS slots into with an additional Circle Pad on the right-hand side (termed “Right Circle Pad” or “Circle Pad (R)”) and three shoulder buttons; these are R Button and the new ZR and ZL Buttons.
The player uses their Circle Pad Pro by slotting the Nintendo 3DS console into the accessory; the console will then recognise the accessory via infrared transceiver.
The new accessory allows some Nintendo 3DS software titles to be played more efficiently and comfortably by the use of the new Right Circle Pad (for example, games that are “twin-stick shooters”), as well as offering new features via the new shoulder buttons (depending on software).

Resident Evil 5 was not a good game but this is the true sequel to the classic fourth instalment of the believes horror series. In fact this game is closer to the original Resident Evil, and the game's main location -the ship Queen Zenobia- will remind you of the mansion of the original. Yeah, the atmosphere is claustrophobic with great moody music and effects! You will search for keys, you will return to previous areas and you really need the map in order not to get lost. The game is divided into TV-series like episodes and there are in-between flashback chapters which give you some back story. They are more action-oriented but they are well-paced and you never forget you are playing a survival horror game. Technically the game is excellent. These are the best graphics of 3DS so far and the game play is very tight, especially if you have circle pad pro. The new peripheral is not necessary to enjoy the game but I highly recommend it as it makes the shooting much tighter.
Anyone who was disappointed with Resident Evil 5 and felt like it wasn't much of a Resident Evil game any more, has to try out Resident Evil: Revelations. If you are a Resident Evil fan, you owe it to yourself to play this game. Don't get me wrong, the game isn't perfect, but I really enjoyed playing it. It has great graphics for a portable game, great sound, and the controls needs some getting used to when using the circle pad pro, but they're just small setbacks. I'd give this game an 8.5 out of 10.
I could write a long review telling all the good things of this game, but I won't. I'm somebody who's only ever slightly informed about video games, with little knowledge on them, and I've recently discovered Resident Evil. Let me just say that this is the best game for the 3DS right now by far. If you like your little Nintendo console, get this game as soon as you can. You won't regret it.
Resident Evil: Revelations is an excellent game :) I'm very happy with my purchase! Definitely one of the best for the 3DS system. It looks great, sounds great - what else could you ask for? You can play it without the Circle Pad Pro, but... it is SO MUCH better with this great accessory! I can assure you - it is worth every penny you will spend on it. The game is noticeably better. I recommended this to everyone I know :)
Resident Evil: Revelations was just as good as I expected! Capcom have done a great job with this one, it's the highest quality game on the 3DS in my opinion. While it's very similar to Resident Evil 4 in many ways, it's a new fresh experience. A must buy for all Resident Evil fans, as it's brought back what we all loved from the old Resident Evil games, but still kept it enjoyable for anyone! Circle Pad Pro makes it an even better experience, so make sure to buy the Zavvi Exclusive bundle as you get them both in a beautiful box for an amazing price!
Resident Evil: Revelations is one of the games that made me pick up a 3DS in the first place. This is the closest thing you can get to experiencing a console like Resident Evil on a handheld. The graphics are superb and not only that but the gameplay follows suit which is really great. If you can pick up the bundle that includes the circle pad pro then I highly recommend it, having an extra analogue stick truly mimics a console like Resident Evil experience. But then again it is possible to play the game without a second analogue stick. Once you have beaten the single player campaign it just doesn't stop there, raid mode expands the play, hordes of creatures that are just aching for killing can be played either online or solo! The game is action packed with content which is unbelievable for a handheld!
Excellent game with lots of scary moments, in an easy to play and get caught in. Will give you many hours of terriffic action. Even more so with the option to use the perfect companion Circle pad pro. This will give you one of the most tight controls of this first-/third-person-shooter. Highly recommended!
Excellent game with a scary atmosphere, but also some funny scenes. You can do weapon upgrades, improvments, there is meny weapons and some other stuff. A lot of searching and some puzzles. Don't waste too much ammunition. It is one of best 3DS games and I really enjoy playing it. The Circle ad Pro improves playing a game and is a must buy!
I have played 4 episodes of the game with the Circle Pad Pro and the pad was very useful for me. Now it feels like playing with a Playstation joypad :) It's not too bulky after all. The game graphic looks amazing for this little screen. Sometimes it was a bit laggy during opening some kind of door or going up/down with elevator. The game got some scary moments too and they are better than Resident Evil 4 and 5. The game is more difficult than previous game. Revelations is best 3DS game in my opionion.
WOW. That's all I can really say to be honest. I had never thought I would see these graphics on a 3DS. Just shows you if the developers are really bothered in improving the graphics of their games or not. The game is amazing, I'm on chapter 8 at the moment. Storyline is really good, first chapters are scary, people, admit it, it IS scary, lots of things that make you jump out of your seat. Raid mode is VERY addictive, great to play online with someone else, loot and lots of weapons, missions etc. to unlock, great depth, will be playing this mode for a long time. This game is a MUST HAVE for all 3DS owners over 16 years old, you won't regret it!
For me it's the best game series. RE:R is finally one of the best titles from this series. The Circle Pad is massive and big, but playing with it is very convenient and intuitive. Absolutely to change the experience of the game. RE:R itself resembles classical works finally with new option. The 3D effect on display 3DS looks very good, it shows what the Nintendo 3DS is capable of.
This is one of the best Resident Evils I've ever played. It's the first RE game (other then Mercenaries) where you can move and shoot at the same time. All in all the graphics are really good, the story is quite interesting actually and revolves around zombies and a few wars (as always). So far I got to play as Jill and Chris (different "classes" you can say, other weapons etc.)
One of my top 10 games of all time. It is wonderful in every aspect. Beyond all doubt, Resident Evil: Revelations is the best non-Nintendo game on the Nintendo 3DS. Capcom did a really good job and made Revelations pretty close to perfect. You'll love both Campaign and Raid mode. And if you play it on Circle Pad Pro, it's a pure joy.
This game is brilliant. If you are a Resident Evil fan you will love this one. For new players it has the first person shooter and having to find your way through sinking ships whilst stuck in the bilge, twisted hallways, missing keys and broken lifts. I give this game 5 stars.
This game is a genuine Resident Evil experience on a portable system with mechanics that fall between the 4th and the previous episodes. While a few things have been simplified (the save system and the inventory), everything you could be expecting from a traditional RE episode is there. The heavy ambiance with a creepy music, the twisted plot, and a few jump scares there and there. The new enemies have a very interesting and well made grotesque look and the new characters end up being pretty interesting, much more than the fashion sense of some of them may suggest. And your boss looks like Colombo, which is really cool. The dubbing is made avaible in most of the European languages + Japaneese. The controls are very comfortable with the Circle Pad Pro, which is of a good quality, and are rumored to be OK without it too. There's also a very addictive Raid mode on top of the campaign in which your level increases and you collect customisable weapons to tackle increasingly difficult stages inspired from the campaign. It is playable in single or co-op over wi-fi and is absolutely awesome. Overall, the game is proabably the most interesting one on 3DS to date.
The game is a classic Resident Evil game with the horror at high levels. Colorful, detailed graphics and the 3D Fx also at high levels gives the emotions of horror. Enjoy with earphones an low ambient light. The C Pad Pro as a secondary control gives a new look and grip at gameplay.
IMHO this is the best Resident Evil game in recent years. While Resident Evil 4 revolutionised the 3rd person shooter genre, the scares were too far and too between to consider itself a true survival horror, Revelations is a step back into a more horror direction. The question is, will Capcom consider a similar direction for future Resident Evil's? I do hope so.
