History: Legends Of War has been created with an extensive single player campaign mode (with over 20 missions), set in historical locations and incorporating real life missions and situations - this gives you the unique opportunity to command your troops through genuine battle environments and operations.
Gameplay combines the mechanics of a turn based strategy with the depth of a tactical warfare game, simultaneously bringing in RPG elements - lead your units from the bloody beaches of Normandy to the war torn streets of Berlin, developing their abilities along the way.
Compared with strategy kings XCOM and Company of Heroes, HLOW brings a whole new level of depth and realism to the genre. With over 30 unique unit types (including Infantry, Armoured Vehicles and Aircraft) and a vast armoury of weapons to choose from, each mission poses a unique challenge as you need to choose the right units and weaponry for the task!
HLOW has been developed by strategy gaming experts Slitherine and builds on the huge success of History Great Battles Medieval. nice tactical game
History: Legends of War is far from perfect, but the graphics are nice enough and vehicles can be used. It's pretty similar technically to another game from the same guys: Xcom Enemy Unknown. If you expect action, don't pick this one. It is strictly turn based. The IA is decent enough, on top difficulty you will have a good enough challenge, on low difficulty you can have a mission here and there on your lunch break. Considering the low price on Zavvi, it is a pretty good buy.

very fun game
History: Legends of War is a very good turn-based strategy game. There are 21 missions and you obviously have different objectives in each mission. The better you complete a mission the more experience you gain. This allows you to recruit more troops and even aircraft and tanks. I have to admit, this game is addictive. You have be smart in this game. There are times you will move your troops and after you moved on, an enemy tank appears. My only gripe with this game is the fact that after your complete your turn, it doesn't have a very good camera view of the computer. It should zoom out so you can see all your troops and go from there. Oh well, it hasn't stopped me from passing. I highly recommend if you enjoy war or strategy type games.

It's okay
History: Legends of War is an okay game at a great price. Graphically, it is sub par for the device and the sound is terrible. The 'history' side of things is fudged a bit to fit the campaign but, hey, it's a game. As a semi RTS it works well. You do have to plan your missions or get wiped out. It is easy to put yourself in a bad position and get punished. Multiplayer is okay, nothing too dynamic as long as the other person stays on. There is lots to do and lots to think about. This game retails elsewhere at a dearer price, so at the Zavvi price it works for me.

History: Legends of War
History: Legends of War is an awesome little turn-based strategy game! It's got a good mix of units and is a perfect fit for the Vita's handheld gaming! It's well worth the price and has an easy trophy set that can be easily obtained in one play through without a guide!

History: Legends of War is a must have game if you like strategy games. This is the best strategy game I have played and it's well worth the money.
