Batman: Arkham City treads heavily on the foundation that Batman: Arkham Asylum built for it, with severely unexpected consequences. With the story continuing months after the intense events of Asylum, Arkham City has become the designated high security dumping ground for all the thugs and the criminally insane individuals of Gotham City. This sequel combines a brand new, ultra-deluxe and layered storyline and setting, with new and improved classic characters and mastermind villains for ultimately gratifying gameplay.
As you explore Arkham City, the revised and advanced combat features will truly help you fuse with your Batman character, as the game throws you a curveball with every vicious encounter. Analyse and assess each threatening situation as Batman would, as certain enemies require certain techniques to defeat them, keeping you on your toes throughout.
A new arsenal of counter attacks combines with the new hotkey system, allowing you to use nearly every new gadget in your possession against any enemy. You will find yourself hunting for trouble as each battle logs up your experience points, helping you unlock various upgrades. A free-flow of this advanced weaponry definitely gives you an advantage, with incredible new gadgets at hand such as smoke pellets, freeze grenades, the remote electrical charger and much, much more.
As well as this intricate campaign, there are a slew of advanced side missions to complete, as well as the 400 Riddler challenges which have you addicted to being in this world. Along with this, one of the most classic characters can become available via downloadable content: Catwoman herself. This content brings you Catwoman as a playable character, who has her own missions, Riddler trophies to achieve and storyline, interwoven in to the gigantic plot of Arkham City. (Cat Emerson)

Catwoman announced as playable character:
As Catwoman, players will have a chance to indulge in their darker side and explore Arkham City as the infamous feline femme fatale. Complete with her own storyline in the main game, Catwoman’s adventure complements Batman’s central role and is seamlessly interwoven with his main story arc. She will also be playable in the challenge maps with her own unique combat moves, gadgetry and signature 'takedowns'.

Batman - Arkham City
Quite frankly Arkham City is amazing, I never played Arkham Asylum but after playing a demo of this I went out and bought it, the combat is fantastic and flows so well. The graphics are stunning and the storyline is great. Quite simply you cannot miss out on this game, in my opinion it is one of the games of 2011!

"To the Batcave" *clutching copy of game*
What can I say? If you missed the first outing, then you missed the gaming equivalent of 'The Dark Knight' movie: that is to say, the best incarnation of batman in a game ever. This game just raises the bar even higher. The story is rich, engaging and filled to overflowing with Gotham lore. The fighting mechanics are easy to grasp, organic and brutally effective. The gadgets are spot on and fun to use. The graphics beautifully dark (and jaw dropping on full whack) and the sound adds the extra depth that graphic alone can't. Sure it's not perfect and can be frustrating at times, especially when trying to complete some of the Riddlers challenges and the AR training missions but that makes it all the more rewarding when you do finally complete them. I could spout superlatives for ages over how much I love this game but I'll leave you this piece of advice instead: Stop wasting your time reading this, buy it and find out for yourself: It doesn't matter what format you play it on just play it!!

Excellent sequel
If you played Batman: Arkham Asylum, then you know how the game's mechanics work pretty much. The game expands on all the ideas and then offers some more. Free-roaming the Arkham city is how you travel and exploring the city is great fun. The game is rich with content that varies from Action, Stealth and Puzzles. Excellent game from start to finish.
