Features:

  • Choice: You are the ultimate assassin, as talented as you are ruthless. You decide how to lay your target low. Stalk your enemies, learn all their secrets and eliminate them in the most subtle way imaginable, snipe them from a mile away or put a bomb under their chair. There is no rulebook
  • you are the best, so think outside the box.
  • Disguises: In the Hitman series, your ability to disguise yourself as someone else has always been a pre-eminent feature and always been one of 47's most powerful tools. This weapon has become even more lethal as you can no longer just blend in visually
  • you now have the power to impersonate your victim. A word of caution though, the world will react to your disguise so choose your target carefully.
  • AI: One facet of the new Glacier 2 engine is the Comprehensive Intelligence Spectrum. Your enemies come to life as you make your way through the world, expressing a wide range of reactions to the environment around them. An attention bar has also been introduced that represents how suspicious of you the people around you are. This is affected by sight, sound and environmental changes for example, a door being open that was closed. This new feature allows 47 to gauge how close to being detected he is and act accordingly.
  • Instinct: 47 has been around the block, instinctively knowing how an adversary will behave. Activate Instinct, see through his eyes and look at the world as 47 does. You'll see how 47 would expect a target to patrol a certain area or show ways to escape. To earn instinct, just behave as 47 would and execute classic Hitman moves, a silent takedown is sure to set 47's instincts ablaze.
  • A living, breathing world: With the power of the Glacier 2 engine, the world is richly detailed and varied. Raising the intelligence of the people populating it and standing in your way, allowing 47 to behave more naturally than ever before.

Poor Gameplay

3 stars out of a maximum of 5

Imagine if you will a line of 200 identical clones, then someone shouts 'Enemy spotted, its the 50th from the right. ? or 4 enemies standing next to you, looking and saying cannot see him, then a loan voice from the other side of a wall, saying enemy spotted. A change of disguise that brings no relief from the above, dressed first as a special forces soldier with helmet and face mask then changes into a monkey suit, they shout its the bald headed one. This will give you some idea of the frustration you will feel, when playing this complete nonsense of a game, despite the excellent graphics.

Great!

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

This game is really good, just like every other game in the Hitman series. Graphics are great, and the game is not as easy as other titles before it. I really liked the end. big surprise there! Came in a perfect condition! Thank you Zavvi!

Great!

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

Despite the somewhat mediocre reviews I bought Hitman: Absolution game quite cheaply at Zavvi and was not disappointed. It's different, yes, but by no means bad. The gameplay is fluid, no matter if you try to be stealthy or just destroy everything in your way, the controls feel never clunky, it's really fun to play. Levels are somewhat smaller in size but the possibilities to fulfill a contract are still vast, the disguises, weapons, the design, the ideas and ways to achieve your goal still as great as in earlier games. The presentation of the story isn't bad either. Again, yes, it feels a bit different compared to older titles of the series, but it's really not a bad game, it's fun, fluid, interesting, varied and it looks great. By all means, for this price, it's a steal and If you like this genre you might find this game to be really, really good.

Hitman: Absolution

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

Hitman: Absolution is the perfect Hitman game. As a long time Hitman fan it makes me very happy to see a new generation version done so well. Yes I know the hardcore stealth genre is pretty niche now, but still seeing a modern game not being completely diluted into stealth "action" is refreshing. Also, another gripe is that although the levels of this game are more populated than previous games, these levels are considerably smaller than previous games, especially blood money. Other than that, it's a good game.

Hitman: Absolution

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

Hitman: Absolution is a good title on its own but not as good as older games in the series. It's much simpler and easier but I still would recommend for Hitman fans.
