Portal 2 is the eagerly awaited and visually breathtaking sequel to the ingenious and innovatively created game Portal, 2007's Game of the Year. This first person puzzle solving platform game has blown the minds of gamers the world over with its riveting storyline and vibrant graphics, and has finally returned with a sequel worthy of its predecessor. This futuristic game has been engineered to bend the laws of physics at will, and challenges you to keep your wits about you with every step you take, with puzzles that place brain over brawn.
Play as the protagonist Chell, a human test subject who awakens in the Aperture Science Enrichment Centre after being kept in stasis for many years. The Laboratories in which you find yourself once again are now in disrepair, due to the Artificial Intelligence robot villain GLaDOS murdering all of the scientists who worked there. Now dormant, you accidentally awaken her in your attempt to escape, and she challenges you once more to a series of test chambers. Unravel the mystics and science that enshroud the power hungry GlaDOS as you make your way through, allowing this uniquely complex storyline to unfold with every chamber you conquer.
Your character will still possess the portal gun, an experimental portal device that can break the laws of spatial physics by creating inter-spatial portals between two flat planes, allowing you to transport yourself at will. You will also be able to produce tractor beams, laser redirection, bridges made of light, and gels that give the objects they cover special properties; all of this is designed to help you make your way through the test chambers. These challenges have been completely revamped in order to offer you, the player, even more to pique your interest throughout, expanding the world you grew to know and love in the original Portal.
Alongside the incredibly rich storyline, superb character development, visually stunning environments, witty dialogue, and the helpful experimental devices provided, there is also a keenly developed co-operative mode to be enjoyed. The co-op picks up right after the single player left off with its own ingenious and original storyline, and you and your team mate will both seize control of two robots and continue the story of the Aperture Science Enrichment Centre. This completely unique campaign allows you to tackle a whole host of new and original test chambers with the help of your partner, each one designed to put both of your minds to the test as you navigate your way through. The level of challenge is raised as you have to incorporate both of your portal guns, and reach a new high of coordination and communication in order to escape GlaDOS' clutches. (Cat Emerson)

While Portal was a great game, Portal 2 is still up to challenge the first title by adding different tools to play with such as paint, jumpers, light footpath, and so on. Humour is there all along the well paced solo game. You'll get some nice coop to play which bring the ability to open 4 portals at the same time making puzzle room quite challenging. Voice acting is great. Great game !

Highly recommended, well done Valve!
A great step up from the original game. Enhanced graphics and a great story line to follow it, A great step up from the original Portal game. I found it a bit harder than the original as well as being more intense and graphically better. I had high expectations which were met from Valve as I thoroughly enjoyed Portal 2. It is very funny, and at times scary, but this is due to the sheer scale of the game. Highly recommended!

Amazing!
This is definately the most hilarious game I have ever played, where every line of dialogue is either a witty response to another character or just an insult thrown in your direction. Stephen Merchant surpassed my expectations in the game with his comedic effort to make his character 'Wheatley' as lively and as interesting as possible which, for me succeeded. I thoroughly enjoyed the 6 -7 hours of gameplay in Portal 2 which brings back and adapts on what Portal bought to the gaming industry. Without spoiling too much, this game brings a lot more to the table as different gels are now getting involved along with various other materials requiring the player to think outside the box in order to complete every upcoming level. The story is as great as you'd expect any Valve creation to be as Portal 2 refers a lot to the original Portal story, though doesn't directly continue from it. Though I undoubtedly enjoyed this game I feel as though there will be next to no replay value in it, which is the reason for my regretful 4 Star Rating. I have not referred to the online / co-op content as I feel Single Player is the controlling and most important aspect of any game as where Multiplayer is more of an... addon than anything else. People should make their judgement to buy a game solely based on the Single Player! Overall I found Portal 2 an excellent game, constantly making me think of new ways to complete every puzzle it presented me. It was certainly a challenge and that's what's made Portal 2 one of my highest rated games of all time!

True Cleverness
If you liked the first game this really needs no introduction. Portal 2 enhances the portal puzzing experience with an engrossing story that unfolds during the game and all new puzzle elements that will wrack the brains of even the most experienced player of the first game. An incredible experience and a must buy you will want to play over and over again.

Portal 2 is the best puzzle game ever created. Though I think by just calling it a puzzle game I'm dulling it down, it definitely offers some great adventure to the gameplay with of course great humor this time also provided by Stephen Merchant. The back story is fulfilling so the player can really drop into the game. The learning curve is very fast and with a lengthy campaign and an online co op mode (PC owners can also play with PS3 owners) this game should not be skipped by anyone. Perfect gift for people of all ages.

THE ultimate puzzle game
Truly a fantastic game. The game requires quite some thinking, but that makes it even more satisfying when you clear a level. The story is full of humorous lines, which is remarkably amusing upon playing. The single player has a fair amount of levels which let's you play for an hour or eight. Whenever you're bored with the single player - which would be surprising - you can easily team up with a friend and clear levels together. This makes the fun factor even higher. It's always lovely to make a friend fail. But teamwork in this 2 player co-op mode will be required to have success. Really a perfect game to play with a friend or just enjoy the creative and funny single player.
