Description
Batman: Arkham City treads heavily on the foundation that Batman: Arkham Asylum built for it, with severely unexpected consequences. With the story continuing months after the intense events of Asylum, Arkham City has become the designated high security dumping ground for all the thugs and the criminally insane individuals of Gotham City. This sequel combines a brand new, ultra-deluxe and layered storyline and setting, with new and improved classic characters and mastermind villains for ultimately gratifying gameplay.
As you explore Arkham City, the revised and advanced combat features will truly help you fuse with your Batman character, as the game throws you a curveball with every vicious encounter. Analyse and assess each threatening situation as Batman would, as certain enemies require certain techniques to defeat them, keeping you on your toes throughout.
A new arsenal of counter attacks combines with the new hotkey system, allowing you to use nearly every new gadget in your possession against any enemy. You will find yourself hunting for trouble as each battle logs up your experience points, helping you unlock various upgrades. A free-flow of this advanced weaponry definitely gives you an advantage, with incredible new gadgets at hand such as smoke pellets, freeze grenades, the remote electrical charger and much, much more.
As well as this intricate campaign, there are a slew of advanced side missions to complete, as well as the 400 Riddler challenges which have you addicted to being in this world. Along with this, one of the most classic characters can become available via downloadable content: Catwoman herself. This content brings you Catwoman as a playable character, who has her own missions, Riddler trophies to achieve and storyline, interwoven in to the gigantic plot of Arkham City. (Cat Emerson)

As Catwoman, players will have a chance to indulge in their darker side and explore Arkham City as the infamous feline femme fatale. Complete with her own storyline in the main game, Catwoman’s adventure complements Batman’s central role and is seamlessly interwoven with his main story arc. Batman: Arkham City wins where many other games failed: it creates a sequel superior in every way to its predecessor! From graphics to gameplay, from music to replay value, this game takes every aspect of Batman: Arkham Asylum and makes it better. You won't be bored with so much to do! Also, the story is well written and full of plot twists that leave the player wondering what will happen next! The addition of Catwoman's quest is also a nice touch that fits well with the overall story. Batman must uncover the secrets of Arkham City, a massive prison ruled by Hugo Strange, where inmates and super villains are let free to fight each other. Is this just a place to punish criminals or there's more? Get the game and find out!

Batman: Arkham City is one of the best superhero games I've ever played. This is the Dark Knight himself, at his very best. This game will make you think that Arkham Asylum is just a tutorial, for this much better and bigger game. The story is good, the graphics are excellent, and the sound almost perfect. What else could you ask for? Just grab this game and enjoy it.

Batman: Arkham City is a masterpiece. Period. I played Arkham Asylum, and loved it. It places the bar higher by proposing a more complete game. Indeed its lifetime seems to be very long, in addition of the main story, there are the secondary quests, the riddles of Nygma... Also the missions of Catwoman and other secondary characters (too bad these are DLCs). The difficulty is also improved. What I mean here is that it became pretty easy at some point in Arkham Asylum, mostly for the combat sequences, but here in Arkham City you can get killed pretty quickly if you don't pay enough attention and if you just spam the "kick/punch" button. Stealth actions are also harder. I play it in normal difficulty. Great atmosphere, heaps of famous villains, original stories, it's a must-have.

I thought that Batman: Arkham Asylum was great, but Batman: Arkham City is better, bigger, braver, and bolder. This makes the original look like a test run. When you play you feel like the real Batman. You play in the heart of Gotham City which is the sprawling mega prison Arkham City. The city is darkly beautiful, side missions are great, riddler trophies and puzzles are scattered all over the city, so you will need a lot of time to beat the annoying Riddler. Story is very good, the super villains that they chose for the game are perfect, and the enemy AI are better than the originals. So buy this game and bring justice to the streets of Gotham.

Batman: Arkham City is a great game and it's the ultimate Batman experience in gaming. Good length to the game, with lots of exploring and collectibles. The game does a great job of representing the characters, both in voice acting and art style. It has a good story and setting with great visuals and details considering the size of the map. For people that have played Arkham Asylum, expect more villains, more gadgets, more enemies on screen and more abilities to take them all out. 5 Stars for being a great game and making the player feel like the iconic hero. It's a really excellent sequel, and all the while under a license.

What an excellent game. I loved Arkham Asylum and I was with high expectations about this one, and it didn't let me down. The story is interesting, easy to understand (easier if you have played Arkham Asylum) and it evolves the player. At the first time a friend told me to play Arkham Asylum, I was like: "Another super hero game that's boring." but when I played I totally changed my mind. And when Arkham City was released, it became one of the most wanted games in my list. I completed the main story and I'm thinking about doing it again sometime. The main story it's not very long, but there is a big list of side quests that will keep you busy for a good time.The environment of a big prison is perfectly recreated in Arkham city. The graphics are fantastic and the gameplay is very good too. I highly recommend this game.

Batman Arkham City is the perfect sequel with stunning graphics, gameplay and combat system. I don´t think I have to say more. This is trully Game of the Year, if not for everyone, for me undoubtedly. Arkham Asylum was large, but "City" is beyond huge! Many riddles, quests, combos etc and I have had countless hours of fun on this game.

I do not play these types of games, I am a FIFA man. I bought Batman: Arkham City just for a change. I must admit I am really impressed. I have played GTA and this is very close. Very open environment to play, controls are not to difficult to master and the graphics are fantastic. A brilliant game and a must have for Batman fans.
