Batman: Arkham City treads heavily on the foundation that Batman: Arkham Asylum built for it, with severely unexpected consequences. With the story continuing months after the intense events of Asylum, Arkham City has become the designated high security dumping ground for all the thugs and the criminally insane individuals of Gotham City. This sequel combines a brand new, ultra-deluxe and layered storyline and setting, with new and improved classic characters and mastermind villains for ultimately gratifying gameplay.
As you explore Arkham City, the revised and advanced combat features will truly help you fuse with your Batman character, as the game throws you a curveball with every vicious encounter. Analyse and assess each threatening situation as Batman would, as certain enemies require certain techniques to defeat them, keeping you on your toes throughout.
A new arsenal of counter attacks combines with the new hotkey system, allowing you to use nearly every new gadget in your possession against any enemy. You will find yourself hunting for trouble as each battle logs up your experience points, helping you unlock various upgrades. A free-flow of this advanced weaponry definitely gives you an advantage, with incredible new gadgets at hand such as smoke pellets, freeze grenades, the remote electrical charger and much, much more.
As well as this intricate campaign, there are a slew of advanced side missions to complete, as well as the 400 Riddler challenges which have you addicted to being in this world. Along with this, one of the most classic characters can become available via downloadable content: Catwoman herself. This content brings you Catwoman as a playable character, who has her own missions, Riddler trophies to achieve and storyline, interwoven in to the gigantic plot of Arkham City. (Cat Emerson)
Catwoman announced as playable character:
As Catwoman, players will have a chance to indulge in their darker side and explore Arkham City as the infamous feline femme fatale. Complete with her own storyline in the main game, Catwoman’s adventure complements Batman’s central role and is seamlessly interwoven with his main story arc. She will also be playable in the challenge maps with her own unique combat moves, gadgetry and signature 'takedowns'.

All is good with Batman: Arkham City, the game is very cool for my son and also is good that he can use the Russian language.
Batman has hours of missions in the great arkham city, many interesting side-quests and amazing graphics at a very cheap price!
Batman: Arkham City is an excellent game and value for money. It was an excellent price and super fast delivery.
Batman: Arkham City is a very good game! The open environment is very nice and so as the plot. Not only for Batman fans.
Very very excellent!
Batman: Arkham City is the best game of 2012! Buy your copy and enjoy it.
Batman: Arkham City is a fabulous game. It's fast-paced, has a gripping plot and good characters. It mixes superb graphics and satisfying, hard-hitting action. It's well worth the money.
Bigger, better and bolder. Makes the first Batman game look like a demo. This one is a classic. Get it now!
This game is an excellent mixture of a free-world game like GTA and a hack'n slay like God of War. Graphics is stunning, despite the missing AA on the PS3. I can absolutely recommend it.
Great game, cheap price, fast delivery, thanks Zavvi
I know it sounds like an oxymoron, but this game is great. Very large world, pretty open, and overall great game play; a must if you played Arkham Asylum. Just bigger and more in-depth, more detailed and as too be expected addicting. Do yourself a favour and grab the game!
Batman: Arkham City is perfect.
I decided to pick this game up as I kept hearing such great reviews on it, especially for the combat. It did not disappoint. I am by no means a major fan of Batman, but I still enjoyed the storyline of the game! Indeed, the combat was very enjoyable and fluid - however at times I felt it was too straightforward - Batman definitely has a lot of health! The camera angle while walking can get annoying, as it's slightly shifted to the right rather than being centred, however this is just me being picky and I soon got used to it. I would definitely recommend picking this up, especially at this price!
excellent value for money exciting game
With Arkham Asylum I almost lost a thumb getting the platinum thropy. My TV broke down and I played in a 14" tv, just because I couldn't wait. I though a second part wouldn't measure up to it. But it does, I don't know if it's even better. I played it in PC and PS3. And months after finishing it, I find myself hoocked again every time I play it. Best superhero game ever, and one of the best games of all time, if you accept the challenge of learning all the tricks, and use them to finish the hard parts of the game. Just the story could be too easy to be fun. Try to enter the top 100 on any challenge's board, and you'll know what I mean.
Previous one had a lot of favourable reviews, I was worried about how much of its quality could come back to the second chapter, but thankfully this game is as good as the original, nothing to worry about.
An amazing game that has everything you wish for in an action genre game-play. The price that zavvi.com was selling it at was also incredibly reasonable and I didn't need to think twice before purchasing this product. Great game, great site.
Batman: Arkham City has left me speechless. It deserved every last pound I spent on it. Every owner of a PS3 should have this game.
A must have in your game collection, hours and hours of enjoyable game play!
Batman Arkham City is a great game at a great price. I would highly recommend this.
Two years ago, I played Batman Arkham Asylum because a very good friend in videogames issue recommended me to try it. He lended the "wonderful game" (as he said) to me. I had no hope on it, a game of Batman. I thought it would be like all the others superheroes videogames. But I started playing, and I didn't stop in 3 weeks of intensive playing. I fell in love with that game. One year ag I saw a new Batman game would be released in a little period of time. Instantly, I thought: 'I HAVE to buy it'. But in Spain we are in a terrible economic crisis, so we can't afford spendings of £50-60, very good price for a perfection like this game. I started very illusionated, and the game didn't disappoint me. I played it as a freak, beating it in just 3 days. I loved, I love all of that game. The fightings, the predator murders, the detective mode, the argument, the characters, all. I thought AA wouldn't be superated by another Batman game, obviously, I was wrong. One of the best PS3 games, without any doubt. Try it if you can, and if you can't, too!
Good game with large open world and a lot of batman characters.
Batman: Arkham City was practically perfect as video games go, offering up a compelling experience that was well executed, fun to play and true to its source. Is it fair to come down on Arkham City in any way for not evolving the 2009 experience more than it does? I say no. Theres still room for improvement in a few spots, but overall Arkham City recaptures the magic of Rocksteady Studios first Batman effort. This is an exceptional game, and it has more than earned its place as one of the 2011 frontrunners for Game of the Year honours.
If Batman Arkham Asulym was a good game for you then Batman: Arkham City is better. Batman is back with new powers, challenges and more of Ridlers games.
Batman: Arkham City is my first experience with a Batman videogame for the PS3 but one thing is certain it will not be the last. The graphics are great, the storyline is exciting and there's all the fine detail. The fun is guaranteed!
If you thought the movie was jaw dropping, then you should play Batman: Arkham City. This is the Dark Knight at his irrepressible best. A roller coaster ride full of twists and turns, with a novel plot device to draw in a multitude of heroes and villains from the DC universe. Get it, even if you haven't played Arkham Asylum.
Top game! Great follow up to Arkham Asylum. 3D is not great though and isn't made for recent active 3D glasses.
Our favourite super hero returns in Batman: Arkham City and what is a continuation in the epic saga. (Hopefully there will be more). I love Batman and this game does not disappoint. Packed with action, the epic storyline twist and turns, leading you one way then another without warning. For a thrill ride of comic proportions, don't miss out on this hell of a game.
Batman: Arkham City is an excellent game, with a great storyline, beautiful graphics and interesting combat. Gotham is a big city with lots to do.
Batman: Arkham City is one of the essentials that you should have in your game library. It's so cool visually, the gameplay engages and maintains the level that we saw in Arkham Asylum. I'd totally recommend you buy this, do not hesitate.
Even if I am not a fan of superheroes' games I have to admit that Batman Arkham City and Asylum are fantastic games. Good graphics, OST, voices and an interesting action game mixed with adventure and investigation.
Batman: Arkham City is a great game at great price!
I haven't played the first Batman but I can say for sure that this one is a masterpiece. Bad guys are everywhere and you can think that YOU are Batman!
By playing the new Batman I concluded that I will gladly recommend to all the development studios to play this title and look at how the game works. It has a high quality story, lots of content, good replay value, a good amount of close combat, stealth interesting approaching, that is with all this - very entertaining.
Awesome game! A worthy sequel to one of the best games to grace the ps3.
Batman: Arkham City is excellent, don't hesitate, purchase it.
Batman: Arkham City is an excellent game. It has great combat controls and is even better than the previous Batman game. I would recommend it.
Batman: Arkham City is the definitive Batman game. It's full of content that will entertain you for a long time to come.
Batman: Arkham City is just like Arkham Asylum only better. Great game great gameplay great storrytelling... buy it!
