New turn for the franchise
Lords of Shadow is a lengthy, beautiful and fun game that takes Castlevania to the next level. Excellent production values and fun combat system, mixed with a lot of platforming and puzzle solving make this game a must-play for action-adventure fans.

Reinvention of Castlevania
Castlevania as most gamers recall is a side scrolling platformer. This has been revolutionised when Konami produced Castlevania Legacy of Darkness for N64. In the first release of Castlevania in the current-gen console, one might expect some uniqueness in this title. However this is not to be. Throughout the game, players will find elements of other games of similar hack and slash genre (think Devil May Cry, God of War or Bayonetta). Though derivative in nature, this is not unwelcome by most players. With beautifully rendered backgrounds and characters, coupled with a fairly good story and cast, this game is able to earn its place in the Castlevania franchise. If you are someone who plays video games for its rich story and great voice acting, this is not a title to miss.

A new kind of Castlevania
We all know how is castlevania games gameplay right? this game in particular takes a new path, you won't be exploring dracula's castle or a town near it, instead this game takes you to several different areas divided in chapters, that you'll have to complete in order to defeat the lords of shadow who torment this land. If you'r a castlevania fan or you like plataform, hack n' slash games you shouldn't miss the opportunity to play this game. --The good-- Excelent plataform and combat gameplay. You can improve and get new attacks as well as other abilities. Detailed and interactive scenaries. Complex story. Variety of puzzles. Wide variety of enemies and boss battles. DLC avalible. --The bad-- Low replay value. The game have a fixed camera. No RPG elements.

Not the Castlevania that we know
This is a great game, awesome graphics but it's not the Castlevania as we know it, the story of the old Castlevania games is killing Dracula, but in Lords of Shadow has nothing to do with that, In Castlevania Lords of shadow the story is to destroy the Lords of Shadow. This game is great, it's almost good as God of War, but the story suffered a drastic change.

Better than God of War
Lords of Shadow is a fantastic game. More deep, challenging and beautiful than God of War, its production values are sky-high. With brilliant voice acting by Robert Carlyle and some slightly hammy voice acting by Patrick Stewart, and some artwork reminiscent of (and on a par with) Lord of the Rings, it's one of the most absorbing games released this year. As well as interesting and exciting combat, it includes acrobatic traversal sequences and more unorthodox mechanics such as beast riding and titan battles, in which, similarly to the classic 'shadow of the colossus' you battle incredible giants by climbing them. Heartily recommended.

Best buy game
I have been waiting for this game for months now and here it is! If you like GOW and metal gear its got a few mixes of it. The battles you have with the monsters from the whole Castlevania series are very much about technique. Still, you will enjoy the sunny hills of long quests to the deep darkest places where no one goes. Level design is excellent - just makes you want to look at the detail than fight the monster coming at you! Each boss battle you start to learn from - but hey ! Mr Kojima (metal gear maker) helped here so its going to be a real boss battle. Did I mention you could also ride a spider..... Replay value is great: A nice game to play over Xmas.
