Devil May Cry HD Collection brings you the incredible first three games in the innovative and ground-breaking hack and slash action series Devil May Cry; one of Capcom’s most successful and worldwide loved franchises to date. This Collection includes the original Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 2, and Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening, all fully remastered and revitalised in superb HD quality, bringing the games to life once more. The Collection has been released in order to celebrate the 10 Year Anniversary of Devil May Cry, and allows you to get reacquainted with Dante, one of the most iconic video game characters of the past decade.
Devil May Cry was originally released in 2001 for the PlayStation 2, and despite being the first game in the series, depicts the events of the second chapter in the series storyline’s chronological order. The game revolves around our protagonist Dante, who is on the hunt for the demon emperor Mundus, whom Dante believes is responsible for the death of his mother and brother. After meeting a mysterious woman called Trish, she brings you to Mundus’ dauntingly immense castle, leaving you to fend for yourself against all of the monsters that await you. Along the way you will encounter various terrifying demons and bosses, each battle increasing in difficulty as you work your way up through Mundus’ castle in order to exact your revenge, culminating in going head-to-head with Mundus himself.
Devil May Cry 2 was originally released in 2003 for the PlayStation 2, and is the sequel to the original game Devil May Cry, but is chronologically the fourth and final game in the series, documenting the last events of the storyline. The game focuses on the hero Dante and introduces a woman called Lucia, who with her mother Matier enlists Dante’s help to fight against a businessman by the name of Arius, who is using demonic power in an attempt to conquer the world. In order to do this, Arius is planning on using a group of items called the Arcana to summon the demon Argosax, and in turn gets much more than he bargained for, including his demise and demonic resurrection, and the unintentional opening of a portal to the demon world.
Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening was originally released in 2005 for the PlayStation 2, and is the prequel to the original game Devil May Cry, marking it as the first game in the series storyline’s chronological order. The game centres on Dante’s severely dysfunctional relationship with his identical twin brother and main antagonist Vergil, beginning with Vergil challenging him to reach him at the top of a tower infested with demons, devils, and various monsters. It becomes clear that Vergil wants to unite the two halves of the amulet that their mother gave them in order to reactivate this tower’s ability to connect the human and demon worlds. It is up to Dante now, in order to defeat his evil twin brother, to awaken the dormant devil power within him and put a stop to Vergil before the world becomes consumed with demonic life.
Re-introduce yourselves once more with this worldwide critically acclaimed and successful video game franchise, which throws such an incredible amount of fast-paced action at you, that you’ll find it hard to catch your breath. Prepare to perform slick and stylish combat, whilst experiencing intense and severely challenging gameplay that boasts one of the most original storylines to date, all in superb HD quality. Best game! Thanks
This trilogy has two of the greatest beat'em all (1 and 3, of course). But this HD collection was made quickly and the sounds in the cutscene doesn't fit with the action. And of course, developers told us they won't patch it...
If you like the Devil May Cry: HD Collection on the PS2, then you need to re-live them on the PS3. They are good action games!
The first three chapter collection of Devil May Cry for ps2 is the right way to know how the Dante's history began. The collection has new graphics in line with the new standards of gaming. It can offer hours of gaming and enjoyment.
Devil May Cry: HD Collection is one of my favourite game series. I really enjoyed playing these classics again... they're great games.
Great games especially the first and the third one. I recommend these games for fans of hack n slash games.
This game is an excellent product, so many hours of fun and a challenging game for any hardcore gamer, I highly recommend any true gamer to add this product to their collection.
Brilliant collection! You get all 3 games at a good price and you have trophys/achievements to boot. Great for new comers and fans of the series and it gears you up for the new upcoming DMC game due out next year.
Loved it has lots to do and well worth it for 3 awesome games in 1
Excellent game pack. Truly a must for someone who hasn't played the series.
I've been waiting for this HD update for a long time, and it brings back so many memories of playing them on the PS2, the memorable bosses on 1 and 3, dante's sarcastic sense of humour, the excellent over-the-top cut-scenes, and remember how crap the 2nd one is compared to the other 2! Overall, this is an excellent collection and well worth getting.
When I did get my PS2, for me, the DMC games always had been a big favorite. Unfortunately I was not then possible to acquire the games. Therefore, I was able to meet a youth dream with the purchase of the DMC-Trilogy, now. In my view, all three parts are restored greatly and the game play still feels amazing. The DMC games are among the best hack n' slash games and I'm glad that now I can finally play them in a new way. All in all, I recommend the trilogy to all fans of the series and people that (like me) could not play the games in the past, but always wanted to. Buy it, it is worth it! I give 4 stars, because one way or another cut scene does not appear or was poorly edited and I also found one or other lag in the game.
The Devil May Cry collection unites one of the best arcade fighting games in history of console gameplay. Although some of the graphics during cut scenes of Devil May Cry 1 have not been upscaled with great care, the game does look good and plays almost as good as on the PS2 (with some noticeable lag during some fights). I am really happy the game got delivered so quick, so I can enjoy this classic all over again!
The Devil May Cry HD Collection is a must own for fans who have played them previously on the older generation of consoles. The HD ports are really good and the graphics have been nicely polished. Although most of the bigger cut-scenes are in SD quality the game-play is given all the HD treatment. If your looking for a fun game with lost of action and a few puzzles then this is the game you have been waiting for.
You would be mad to miss out on this trilogy in HD on PS3 (or Xbox 360). If you haven't played the Devil May Cry series before now is the perfect time to start. All 3 PS2 classics are remastered in stunning HD, upgrading an already enticing and exciting experience. You play as Dante, a half demon half human hybrid and demon slayer as he ventures into dark lands plagued by all manor other worldy monsters. Hack, slash and shoot your way through various evil and mysterious settings upgrading your arsenal as you proceed. DMC follows the same 3rd person view gameplay that has made Capcom famous. Get this if you enjoy capcom's other survival horror Video game series such as Resident Evil.
It's the best game Ive ever played and Im very happy because now I can play this in a HD TV.
Excellent collection of the best hack'n slash saga games on PS2, now available for the new consoles generation. A purchase you cannot miss.
