    God of Videogames

This collection has two critically acclaimed games, God of War and God of War 2. It is perfect both for those who have never played and those who played in the time since it was remastered by making them seem new generation of games. Besides if you want to play God of War 3, it is better to know the history later. With excellent graphics and gameplay is a great game recommended for people who like a story of action, war, platforms.

    Lightening strikes twice - again

Graphics: Superb. Even by today's standard both God of War I & II have stood the test of time. Not only do they look great considering there PS2 heritage, but actually do a fantastic job of making more recent games look out of date. Sound: The score throughout either games is nothing short of spectacular and with an acute balance of music and war cries from fallen foe, you're ears will never tire. Gameplay: Since its release a few years back, everyone and their dog has copied the formula God of War succeeded with but none have outdone. Whilst your weapons tend to be discarded in favour of the ones you begin with, the combat is still incredible and there's hours of fun to be had switching between combat and puzzles. Value for money: You've got two of the highest rated PS2 games here for under £20. It's nothing short of a bargain especially with the extra content, trophy support and updated graphics. This is a must have for all PS3 owners.

A package you don't want to miss

There are characters in games that have made such a gargantuan impact in the industry and in their respective genres, that they become a looming imprint in the back of our minds – legends, and proof that a certain era of gaming did indeed grace us with memorable moments! One of these characters that have made such an impact on many folks, including myself, comes in the most brutal form – a barbaric Spartan that craves chaos and revenge. The man who is responsible for the extinction of the mythological Greek gods of Olympus – Kratos, the protagonist in the God of War series, and probably one of the most bad-ass individuals in gaming history. God of War, although a last generation game, still offers an experience that trumps current next-gen titles. Although the graphics aren’t on par with today’s games, the gameplay still offer the same reminiscent experience that awed us on the PlayStation 2. Although the gameplay remains old school, the game feels more like a classic than it does outdated. The visuals weren’t re-invented, so you won’t see too much changes in new textures and polygon counts. But the game does offer a visible change to the world of HD, which takes the old grainy look from the PS2, and reiterates it with much smoother framerate that would belittle current games. However, one of the more tedious and noticeable aspects when playing the games is the gritty cutscenes which did not receive the same visual enhancement treatment that the games itself received. This is much more noticeable in the first God of War, which will easily put a look of disgust in some faces. Is it enough to pry you away from the intense in-depth action and story that makes God of War what it is? Absolutely not. But it will make some folks wonder why the developers didn’t cater to these portions of the games. If you haven’t played the God of War series, you’re missing out on much more than awesome games. You’re missing out on a piece of gaming history that, I guarantee, will change the way you perceive action adventure games. You’re getting two of the greatest games, with the addition of the E3 demo of God of War III, for a price that (here on Zavvi) is undeniably amazing – and this is a collection that, by far, is better than a lot of next-gen titles that permeate this generation today.

    Greek Mythology At It's Best

Back in 2005 when this game first came out, I had been hearing from other people that this game is awesome and it has great graphics etc. I said to myself "no, it's just a cheap and boring game like Spartan Total Warrior about Greek Mythology". That's where I was wrong!!! I finally convinced myself to buy it and see for myself. God I'm glad I did buy it that day! The graphics, the story, the gameplay and the voice acting in this game are absolutely stunning! I had never played a game that is violent and beautiful! After 5 or so years I heard that it was coming to the PS3 in Hi-Def graphics. Without a second thought I bought it! I said "it's a good idea to refresh the story while waiting for God Of War 3 to be released". I enjoyed it 3 times better than I played the original titles on the PS2! They are 2 fantastic adventures that everybody needs to have in their collection of games! A must buy!
