Originally developed by Team Bondi in conjunction with Rockstar Games, L.A. Noire is a crime thriller set in post-World War II Los Angeles. As Detective Cole Phelps, players must search for clues, interrogate suspects and chase down criminals to solve a series of cases based on real world incidents. As he rises through the ranks of the LAPD, Phelps comes face-to-face with the corrupt heart of Los Angeles: from fallen starlets to double-dealing police officers and the vast reaches of the criminal underworld and finally, the darkness of his own personal demons.
Utilizing a brand new type of facial capture technology called MotionScan, L.A. Noire breathes unprecedented life into character performances and was honored as an official selection of the 2011 Tribeca Film Festival.
L.A. Noire: The Complete Edition on consoles features all of the previously released downloadable content for L.A. Noire, including:

I bought this game after a friend of mine kept talking about it as the best game in its genre ever. Well, he was right! What separates this game from the others in my opinion is the excellent motion capture. The characters move and talk so realistically, resulting in an atmosphere that keeps you playing just "one more minute". The story is intriguing, the game-play is well balanced and the retro atmosphere is very well reproduced in all its aspects. A must have game that will keep you entertained for a long time!
I've been wanting this game for a while now and finally found the right time to purchase it. The Complete Edition comes with all of the DLC and at this price it's a steal. I haven't played much of the game but from what I have it is looking really good the post World War II setting works really well with the guns, characters and cars from that era proving to be a great recipe for a crime thriller! I highly recommend this to anyone, Rockstar games have worked their magic yet again!
If you want a game that is clever, different and very engaging, go for this. It is open world, and provides the best facial animation in characters from all video-games, and it is appropriate, because one of the things you'll be doing is trying to interpret people's faces during interrogations as to whether they're lying or saying the truth. It has driving, shooting, clue finding, and a very interesting storyline. Definitely recommended!
L.A. Noire: The Complete Edition is a game that breaks rules and introduces something new. The facial technology used in this game surpasses anything out so far and I honestly cannot understand why all games do not yet use it. The game is a mixture of GTA style play mixed with puzzles when solving crime scenes and interviews. If you're not sure about this game, all I can say is go for it. You will not be disappointed. It's one of the best games I've played in years.
L.A. Noire's absorbing investigations and intoxicating sense of style make it an unforgettable journey through the seamy side of the City of Angels. The game features authentic and outstanding 1940's style and atmosphere. There are solid performances and a good use of motion capture, compelling investigation and interrogation mechanics. The noire story is also memorable, with some great shoot-outs and action sequences that make use of real LA locations. The downsides are that early investigations are very limited and the disconnection between cases leads to some jarring moments. There are also some restrictions during pursuits and shoot-outs feel artificial.
Really an intriguing story! You have to solve cases in of increasing difficulty. Action is not mandatory, even if you can enjoy it if you like to. You have to collect items and analyse them, post the correct questions to witnesses and suspects, and study their reaction to recognise truth and lies. Fantastic!
This game easily reminds oneself of the old interactive movies of yore, especially those Sierra games where you were not supposed to do much to advance the story. Well, LA Noire is mainly composed of looking for clues and interrogation, there's not really much else, the action sequences are boring and easy to beat. Fortunately the voice acting is top notch and everything really feels like one of those noir movies, like Detour (go watch it!) or Double Indemnity. Fantastic work by Team Bondi.
