Majin And The Forsaken Kingdom

Majin and the forsaken kingdom is a very well made action/adventure game which shares more than a few similarities with Nintendo's Zelda games along with elements of prince of Persia in its platforming and combat. The story is compelling and the presentation throughout is of a very high standard which helps to maintain an evocative fantasy universe and contributes to an immersive experience. Whilst the game lacks some of the bombast, present in more mainstream titles it is imbued with a charm similar to that found in the movies produced by Studio Ghibli, and the game overall has a very whimsical atmosphere which will please younger gamers and fans of fantasy adventure games.

A mediocre fantasy adventure

Majin And The Forsaken Kingdom is one of the few games where you are forced to group up with a NPC, but it is done better in this game than any other I've played so far with such a mechanic. He is easy to control but sometimes you just wish they would've focused on making a strong main character. Boss fights aren't fun, more annoying than anything. The environments are often beautiful and the enemies do make for a unique bunch (visually) compared to other games. There is a lot of puzzles and collectibes (some make you stronger, some change the way you look) for you to find. Overall an okay experience, definitely worth a purchase if you like the genre.

Majin and the Frosaken Kingdom - Work in pairs

In Majin and the Frosaken Kingdom you control Tepeju and his loveable sidekick the Guardian. It is a game that has a look and feel similar to that of ICO, Kingdom Hearts, and Prince of Persia, but does a great job setting itself apart from those titles and giving itself its own identity. Story: The story, although cliche' at times, is very well polished and thought out. You are Tepeju and after helping free the Guardian, you both set out on a quest to rid the world of "the Darkness". You will be traveling through a vast land consisting of forests, deserts, mines, ships, and castles, all so you can purge the world of the darkness and restore it to its natural state. The only complaint I have with the story is that the cutscenes used to tell the story leave a little to be desired. Graphics: The graphics in Majin are extremely polished and look incredible. As stated above in the story, you will be visting many different locations and all look and feel different. I at times caught myself aweing at the vast detail the designers put into this game. Definitely a strong point for the game. Gameplay: Ah the ever important gameplay. For those of you who are fans of Kingdom Hearts, you will love this combat system. Your weapons include a sword that resembles a keyblade, rocks, and oh I almost forgot to mention a giant man-bear-pig that totally kicks some tail. As you progress through the game you unlock different abilities for the Majin. Along with your awesome hack and slashing abilities, thrown in your majin blowing gale force winds and you get some incredible combos. Being thrown 30 feet in the air by the Majin while doing some aerial acrobatics and finally unleashing a devestating downward sword thrust is one of the most satisfying things I have done in a video game in quite some time. Also the game features some unique RPG aspects. Not only do you level up, but by performing combos with the Majin your team work levels up. You also collect costumes throughout the game that not only change Tepeju's abilities but change your look as well. I never got tired of the combat system and haven't had this much fun hacking and slashing since kingdom hearts. Sound: The biggest issue with the game is the sound. Voice acting is actually pretty good...and then there is the Majin. Don't get me wrong by the end of the game I was completely attached to the big fella, but I can see the issues people have with it. Personally, I feel the voice fits perfectly and I can't picture any other voice or dialog fitting the character. IGN was quoted saying the Guardian is like barney who didn't make it out of grade school. You will probably either love the voice acting, or hate it. Also the soundtrack is not very diverse at all. The only thing I got tired of in the game was defintely the music. All the tracks sounded the same to me. Conclusion: Let me start my closing by saying this game had me engrossed from start to finish. The puzzles never felt to similar and I never got tired of the battles. It is extremely well paced. You never get too much puzzle or too much action. The story has a great plot, the graphics are incredible, and as jst stated has amazing gameplay. The only thing I feel is lacking in the game is the sound. A weak sound track and questionable voice acting are the downside, but I can easily overlook this as this is one of the better games I have played in a while. I highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys action/adventure games and it ranks as one of the best action/adventure titles on the PS3 in my opinion.

Despite its sometimes frustrating combat, Majin is a fun and compelling adventure

Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom is a rather unique concept: a boy and a a giant beast stripped of its former power must cooperate to overcome obstacles and defeat otherwise impossible enemies. It draws inpiration from classics such as Zelda, ICO and Prince of Persia and will keep you interested to the very end, despite combat being a bit frustrating at times due to not so perfect Majin artificial intelligence and lack of battle prowess from the main character. Still, puzzles are clever and the story is good. Artistic design is well done and there's a good variety for most of the game. Action adventure fans should not pass on this one.

Underestimated

This is another good game that has been lost in the endless list of boring-looking-all-the-same first person shooters. The game is a third person action adventure that splits equally its gameplay between puzzles and fighting. The main hero, you, has a very interesting companion named Majin to whom you give orders that help to solve puzzles and proceed in the game. Majin is also very helpful in combats with several diffent types of attacks that are controled by you. The visuals are more than fine, and I didn't face any glitches or bags during my gameplay time which was for me about 20 hours until full completion. In general I enjoyed the game very much and for this low price, I would say it is a must buy.

Majin And The Forsaken Kingdom Majin And The Forsaken Kingdom

Wonderful story about human and demon who lost his memory and behave like child. Graphic looks old but is not about that in this game. Lots of logic riddles to solve and great humour all the time. If someone played ECO on ps2, and liked it, will like this game too.

Majin And The Forsaken Kingdom

This game is not technically perfect, but it offers an exhilarating adventure (It will take you about 15 hours to finish the main story.) that combines a wonderful world and a well thought gameplay.
