As a gamer, one gets used to games meeting, exceeding or falling below one's expectations. With the Uncharted series, one has, so far, not needed to worry about the quality of either the writing, the beautiful and intriguing settings or the gameplay itself, as it has repeatedly proven itself to be a downright joy to play, every single installment. With Drake's third outing in Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, most of what, I, personally, loved about Uncharted 1 and 2 returns; great cutscenes, absorbing interaction between the characters, good TPS mechanics and brain teasing puzzles. Uncharted 3 is, in my opinion, most definitely a must buy. Naughty Dog, bring on Uncharted 4, please!
Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception is epic. It has a pace of action that's worthy of the best adventure films, and a protagonist who today is trapping us with his character and way of being. Uncharted 3 finally shows Drake's history and will leave you in awe of this great game.
This game is a huge step back from the already mediocre Uncharted 2. The graphics are mostly good but look really rough far too often, the musical score is bland the story is quite possibly the worse I've ever experienced in a game and the game play is boring. The gun play is so off-putting due to the incompetent aiming system and the platforming is repetitive. The entire game just feels like a rushed cash in with excessive and pointless set-pieces to try and make up for all of the games other downfalls, this doesn't work and leaves the game feeling like a mess. There is nothing good about this game outside of the graphics, I do not recommend this abysmal game at all. There's a lot of over much better PS3 games you should buy instead.
Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception is a unique experience in the world of video games, as a child I have memories of the Indiana Jones movie adventure, after all these years while playing Uncharted I feel like I´m the real Indiana Jones. In terms of graphics this game takes the PlayStation 3 to its limits is superb and the dizzying pace of the game grabbed me right from the first chapter. In my opinion this is the best adventure game ever and a privilege for those who have PlayStation.
Having played the other two Uncharted games through to the end, I was really looking forward to this one, and with the added bonus of 3D on the PS3, I couldn't wait. So, anybody who has played one of the previous games will be familiar with the mix of puzzles, climbing to find your way round obstacles - like Prince of Persia - and sections of shooting bad guys, using various weapons that have their own strengths/weaknesses. Rifles, grenades, long range etc. However, what really makes these games is the fantastic attention to detail and the incredible backdrops provided - so you start off in London and as you move about - you can see the skyline of the Eye, Gherkin etc. rendered perfectly. You move on to more exotic locations and each is a more spectacular sight than the previous one. Of course you can run round as quickly as possible, completing tasks and moving on - but the real pleasure in playing these games is in taking in the stunning worlds that have been created for the game. I played this on my Panasonic Plasma 3D TV and once you have the 3D glasses on, you are totally immersed in another world and at times it was difficult to take them off and get back to the real world - it is so realistic and well-rendered. The story is the usual mix of treasure hunting that gets more and more complex, ending up with philosophical and spiritual elements taking over (why does Drake keep doing this?). It's almost like a compulsion and it's not really about the treasure and more about the life he wants to lead. Overall, this is one of the classiest franchises on the Playstation 3 and you have to try it, to see what can be done. The game-play is mixed up, so you are never doing the same thing all the time - although it will all be very familiar stuff to most people. It is great fun though, to immerse yourself in Drake's world of adventure, mystery, magic and beating up bad guys - while staring in awe at the amazing places created by the graphics teams - 3D does really improve this as well. If you have a Playstation 3 and a 3D TV - you have to try this - it's the best 3D gaming experience around at the moment!
Uncharted 3 is the closing chapter in the breathtaking Uncharted trilogy by Naughty Dog. The game follows Nathan Drake in yet another treasure hunting adventure, full of twists and interesting characters. The graphics are a great improvement over the other installments and further cement Uncharted as a highly cinematic series. You're not just playing a game, you're watching an amazing movie. The game-play is very similar to the previous games, so if you played those first and liked them, you'll love this one as it features some new additions such as weapons. The multiplayer is also very solid, providing a good challenge and capturing the action feel of the series quite well. This game is a masterpiece in both storytelling and game-play.
Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception had me hooked from beginning to end. The plot and script is fantastic. The fast-paced and frantic action. You can not stop playing, want to see what happens next and you go on and play. The graphics are second to none on Playstation 3. For me, an excellent game and that is the indispensable catalogue of Playstation 3.
Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception is amazing like the rest of saga. There are plenty of well-detailed ambients with a more detailed approach into each character's past. The gunplay is exciting as ever. If you liked the last 2 games, you'll certainly enjoy this one as well.
I've played both prior games so I knew what to expect, but what I didn't expect was the shooting mechanics to be this bad! I just can't enjoy the game at all.. Uncharted games are not "just shooters" as they involve a lot of platforming and puzzle sections as well, but when 50% of the game involves shooting, then it's a major part of the experience. Somehow the game never feels right. Drake's animations, as he runs around, look like he's a semi-crippled person who's still capable of running and jumping about, while there's constant delay between shooting and melee action that never blends well. Graphics wise it is a competent enough game with a lot of variety and story etch, but at heart, as a game experience it has let me down. If you thought Uncharted 2: Among Thieves was great, then get it, if you had doubts and your felt like something was not perfect, then perhaps rent it instead.
Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception tells of the adventures of Nathan Drake (descendant of the legendary English navigator) and his long-time pal Victor Sullivan as they race to find clues scattered around the world to reveal the location of a hidden lost city. The action is the usual, tried-and-true Uncharted fare with a few small tweaks. It's engaging throughout, and chock-full of memorable, over-the-top action moments. There isn't a dull moment in the entire game, which on its own is a remarkable achievement. Aesthetically, the game is beautiful, with some of the most detailed facial animations I've ever seen, lush environments and the best use of lighting I've ever seen in a game. My only complaint lies in the plot; it starts off great, but lags too much around the middle and then it's over too quickly. It's almost as if the game was rushed, and the interesting main villain ends up feeling criminally underdeveloped. It doesn't help that it's an almost verbatim carbon copy of Uncharted 2. However, the gameplay is enough to keep the game together, and the script is enjoyable nonetheless. The voice acting is stellar as usual and multiplayer is back with more modes (even co-op missions, which can be played online or locally). Uncharted 3 would be a top scorer in my book as a standalone, but as a sequel it fails to improve in a couple of key areas. Nonetheless it's still extremely enjoyable, filled with memorable moments and a worthy addition to the series.
Truly an awesome game. A non-stop action packed game whereby my hands are glued to the control pad. Game should come with a warning of deadly addictive. Was totally absorbed into this game and oblivious to everything else for several hours. Best money spent worth every cent. Must have game.
So after a while absent from gaming I got a new PS3 and the first game I decided to play was Uncharted 3. The previous 2 games of the series were among my best for the current generation so I knew I wouldn't be disappointed. And of course I didn't. The game was amazing. Maybe the most advanced graphics in the console so far. The levels in the game are of brilliant in design, lots of beautiful scenery. The character models are even better, especially the skin and the lighting effects on them. The animations seem they have had a little freshen-up as well. The visual effects have been also improved like the fire effects in some certain levels, or other effects like the sand and also the way fire lightens up dark places. The game is jaw dropping at least. Only cons I found is that the controls felt a little awkward especially in moving the player. It could be though that my dualshock sticks are ruined. And also I believe the single player mode is a little bit shorter in duration compared to Uncharted 2. I am not into online gaming so I didn't try the online to write about it but I am sure 'Naughty Dog' has done a great job there as well. Anyway, I don't have to say it, you should probably know it yourself. This game is a must for every PS3 owner who enjoys action games.
