Description

Directed by Shinji Mikami, the creator of the Resident Evil series, VANQUISH™ is a sci-fi shooter of epic proportions with a fast, fluid and frenetic combat system, and an engaging and immersive storyline.

The story takes place on a vast space station in a near future world where nations war over the planet’s remaining energy resources. Against this backdrop, players take the role of Sam Gideon, a government agent kitted out with a futuristic battle suit. A versatile fighter with a huge arsenal of weaponry at his disposal, Sam also has an array of martial arts skills that he can use to take down his robot enemies.

Feel the action , Play Vanquish!

Vanquish is a sci-fi action third-person shooter, developed by Shinji Mikami and Platinum games. The game play is the core of Vanquish. Fight against hordes of robots and huge bosses with QTE and many weapons. Also once when you complete the Story mode, the challenge continues with 6 "Challenge Maps". Good story, awesome game play and brilliant voice actors and music make Vanquish one of the best action games!

A matter of pacing.

Vanquish is a great game! A really fast paced shoot 'em up, perfect for arcade lovers. Story is extremely cheesy but in a good way. Think your favourite action heroes from the eighties with all their over the top one-liners, and place them in a high tech future. This game rocks!

Spectacular

Vanquish is one of my favourite games of this generation. The amount of polish that has gone into its controls, stages, weapons, enemies and bosses is far beyond most games I've ever played. It's not bogged down by load times, sidequests, minigames or a convoluted storyline, nor is it expecting you to pay for half the content through DLC. Instead, it focuses on what always made games great. Imagine Contra on a next-gen machine, challenging but fair. When you first play, you'll probably be overwhelmed and die quite frequently. Don't be discouraged, as with enough practice I can now play through the whole of Hard difficulty and only die a total of three times. Once you've discovered the uses of each weapon and the weaknesses of each enemy type, each encounter becomes a test of your skill as opposed to trial and error. This game was directed by one of my favourite designers in the industry, Shinji Mikami, who worked on titles such as Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe, Resident Evil 4 and God Hand. I recommend each of those games as much as this one.

Great 3rd person experience!

This is without doubt one of the best shooters on the ps3. Fast, smooth controls, great visuals, awesome boss battles. Truly worth your money. The only problem of this excellent experience is that it ends a little too soon. Although for this price it's a bargain!!

Fast and furious

Vanquish is the new production of the newly made Platinum Games. It is a fast paced game with amazing gameplay mechanics and every part of it is well mastered and rendered by the developpers. It is just stunning how fast the action goes although the game has no action reading issues. The story is interesting but not spectacular, the fun does not find its place in the story telling. The game is worth it's price.
