Never heard of this game before, but I bought it and turned out to be really fun. Well worth a single play-through. I wish the weapon buying and customising was fleshed out a little more, I feel like by the time I got done with the game, I didn't get to try enough of it out.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine

I've always been a great fan of Warhammer, and this game is a great representation of the old tabletop game. The graphics are alright, and the game play is good. The best part of the game is how fun it is, and the extreme over the top violence just puts a smile on your face. A definite buy for any fans of Warhammer.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is a nice third person shooter, with the typical Warhammer setting. lots of cut-scenes and a very cinematic feel in the single-player campaign. There's a couple of problems though: it's too similar to Gears of War (some levels even copy the setting) and a little too linear for its own good. If you play online it's still a good buy though, since multiplayer has a nice variety of modes including co-op. You get perks, customizations and the net-code is above average, so little lag or disconnections. A nice overall package that comes a little short of the top honors.

Warhammer 40k does an excellent job with the voice acting, the massive scale of the Warhammer Universe and brutal nature of said universe. Graphics: Top of the line for the PS3. Developers didn't use short cuts or skimp on the animations. I did notice there was a bit of clipping, but minimal. Story and Flow: Excellent story that is hindered by some repetitive fights. You may find yourself pushing the limits of your character's health so you can get to the story part and be done with some of the endless mob fights. Upside: Story is worth it and I found myself wanting to see it. Sound: Quick summary on this, very well done and never get tired of hearing a Ork's head go POP!

Very Good Game

If you're looking for a game for the PS3 then Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is it. It has good graphics, and it's great online. I didn't have any problem with lag, and the game play is really easy.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine looks like a movie. I recommend it to all fans of the Warhammer series, and also to those who want to know the Warhammer series. I was really pleased with the gameplay in both the Singleplayer campaign and the multiplayer mode.

Great fun

For those expecting a in depth game like the original Warhammer 40k board games, walk away now! This is a mindless hack & slash and really, all the better for it. Well, not exactly mindless but slashing through Orcs and Chaos Marines never gets old. It's a great distraction and something a little different to the normal shooters & well worth trying out.

a great game at great price

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine proves to be a great game. The story is linear but enjoyable and the graphics are impressive even though they're not state of the art. There is an impressive amount of gore, which amazed me. I wasn't so keen on the cinematics - well more the fact that they interrupted the action and the game itself could have been longer. All in all a great game.

Great action packed shooter

Space Marine is awesome! It a solid 3rd person shooter taking place in the Warhammer 40k Universe where you fight hordes of alien Space-Orks. The player can regain health by stomping on Orks or leaving himself open to enemy attacks. The developer has put more focus on easy to pick up action than on complex RPG elements and there is a variety of different weapons. Many of them are "official" Warhammer 40k weapons. The game also features multiplayer making it even better. If you are into action shooters, you should really buy this game.

Great action game

This game is like Gears of War on steroids. Key to success here is non-stop action without running away from enemies and taking cover. Game looks and sounds truly great and for this price it's really a bargain. I'm not even a Warhammer fan and I absolutely love this game. If you like steel hard action games, then this is a game for you.

Decent Linear Shooter

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine brings the 40k World to life with every race and faction represented very faithfully. Orcs are brutal and savage, the guardsmen are very human and the space marines powerful and revered. The game-plays a bit like gears of war without the typical expanses of chest height cover and the cover system that accompanies it. It instead prefers you striding into gunfire mowing down your enemies while you close distance and engage in hand to hand. Oddly the only way to heal is to 'execute' enemies which involves stunning them with a melee attack and then pressing a button when their stunned. The levels are graphically and artistically impressive however you are always railroaded by corridors or rubble from arena to arena. There is a multiplayer mode but I wasn't really interested in it and the single player campaign took about a fortnight to complete, and the ending isn't particularly rewarding.
