Vault 101 - Jewel of the Wastes. For 200 years, Vault 101 has faithfully served the surviving residents of Washington DC and its environs, now known as the Capital Wasteland. Though the global atomic war of 2077 left the US all but destroyed, the residents of Vault 101 enjoy a life free from the constant stress of the outside world. Giant Insects, Raiders, Slavers, and yes, even Super Mutants are all no match for superior Vault-Tec engineering. Yet one fateful morning, you awake to find that your father has defied the Overseer and left the comfort and security afforded by Vault 101 for reasons unknown. Leaving the only home you've ever known, you emerge from the Vault into the harsh Wasteland sun to search for your father, and the truth.

I never expected to get that sucked in into Fallout 3 GOTY, then again, I hadn't expected anything, really. I knew there was a sort of cult following to it and over the first couple of hours, didn't really see what all the fuss was about. I also didn't know what to expect - a shooter, adventure game, quest-like game or what - and as it turned out, it was all of them. This is an extremely enjoyable game, played in a complex world; enemies, friends and creatures lurking around every corner, unending plot lines and maps, so many things to do, so little free time (in my life) to explore everything. The GOTY version is well worth the little extra money, with several new and very different missions, maps and side-quests, and also the Broken Steel expansion, which allows the player to accumulate more traits and get to a higher level of character building. This is highly recommended!
Fallout 3 game of the year edition has to be one of the top 5 games for packing in so much value for money. The original game would take a minimum of 100 hours to do most things but the Game Of The Year Edition is massive, and the replay value is tremendous, because just as you think you have seen it all you discover another new place! I just keep going back to this game, it is fantastic!
The Game Of The Year edition takes the classic Fallout 3 and adds all of the downloadable content too. These extra missions are fairly long and add weapons and other items to the game world. Several hours of extra gaming on top, means this has to be a must buy for anyone who hasn't already bought Fallout 3, and due to the price, worth while getting even if you already own the original title, if you've not already got some of the DLC.
In my opinion I think Fallout 3 is one of the best games ever because it offers so much fun gameplay and it lets you choose the path you want to follow. For example when you escape the vault most gamers will stick to the main quest and go to the nearest settlement megaton, but you can just forget about your dad and explore the vast capital wasteland. I think that that fallout 3 offers endless amounts of gameplay from travelling through the dark damp and "scary" metro tunnels slaughtering hordes of feral ghouls or exploring the Washington ruins and battling super mutants, action meets you everywhere in the capital wasteland etc, and that why I recommend the game of the year for any gamer to have the full experience of Fallout 3!
Over 100 hours of fun with this GOTY Edition, get lost in the Capitol Wasteland and forget the real world exists! Better story than the more recent New Vegas and a whole lot longer. Absolutely a must for any RPG fan.
Not sure how I missed this game, I never played it before. The game is old, and I could notice that in the beginning. But after playing it for a few hours I didn't notice it anymore. I absolutely love this game, it's brilliant. It's got a wonderful world to explore, many characters to figure out and a huge amount of quests. The art style reminds me of Bioshock, which I also loved. It has a sort of borderlands loot feeling about it. I didn't finish it yet, but I'm sure going to.
I've had this Game since the day it came out I've rack up about 120 hours of game play and completed the game 5 times. There's just so much to do, the story is amazing, there are tons of side quests, and lots to explore across the waste land, just yesterday I came across a lone traveller and his robot attacking some onclave soldiers and a deathclaw I used my trusty plasma rifle to blast them all away with a little help from the V.A.T.S system. This is a good game for any gamer it's a First person shooter and a Third person shooter, Role playing game with tactical, run and gun, explosive gameplay. And all this before all this great content, in the content you get to go to space, on a boat to a swamp full full of mutants, take over a enslaved city called the pit, go in to a simulation to fight in great war that caused the fallout in the first place and add more to the already brilliant storyline. This is the most amazing game I have played in a long time.
Firstly, this game is one of the best going. If you're a fan of your first person shooters that require more than just going from level to level gunning down the enemy A.I. then this game may just be about perfect. The game of the year edition not only provides just the original game (already a bargain at £29.99) but all 5 pieces of DLC that came out over the past year. Each piece went on Xbox live at 1200 points, which works out to be about £9 each. So for £29.99, you're getting a game that basically works out at £85 (if you were to buy the game at launch for £39.99 + all 5 DLC) seriously, it's a massive bargain, it has over 50 hours of gameplay and the game itself is such a pleasure to play. The VAC system is immense. And i dare you not to get hooked on Galaxy Radio. Everyone i know who's played this game now has the soundtrack. Thanks for Listening Children.. this is three dog signing off!
