    Description

Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection (Limited Edition) brings you this exclusive and limited edition box set that contains three of the most popular games from the Metal Gear Solid legacy; one of the most important game series of all time, all in perfectly remastered HD quality. These three games are Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty, and Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater, allowing you to experience the games from past to present. An extra special part of this box set is that for the first time ever, Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker is available on a console other than the PSP. Along with these games this limited edition box set includes a collection Steelbook, an exclusive Metal Gear Solid tshirt, and a 250 page book containing the brilliant artwork of Yoji Shinkawa.

This incredible game series is the work of the renowned director and game creator Hideo Kojima, who is a figurehead for pioneering the stealth action genre in games. The Metal Gear Solid saga is noted for the innovative storyline and game play, with the protagonist being an elite secret agent from a special forces unit, who you must guide through enemy territory during tense solo missions. Explore vast terrain and enemy base camps, hone your skills to sneak past the enemy undetected, alone and without any support from your comrades, whilst your life is constantly on the line.

    Metal Gear Solid: 2

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty was originally released in 2001 for the Playstation 2. The game is set two years after the events of Shadow Moses, with Solid Snake and Octacon as part of Philanthropy; an anti-metal gear non-governmental organisation that they founded. They receive word that incredibly sensitive technological information has been leaked on to the black market regarding the walking nuclear-armed Metal Gear unit, and that a prototype is being transported through the Hudson River. However, this is a trap set by high-tech Special Forces Unit FOXHOUND (the US Army's elite black ops unit that was established by Big Boss) member Ocelot and his Russian mercenaries, who seize the tanker. The plan goes awry, and the tanker sinks to the bottom of the Hudson River, and Solid Snake is believed to have gone down with it. Two years later and The Big Shell, an oil clean up facility set up on the bay of the river, has been taken over by a terrorist group calling themselves the Sons Of Liberty, with their leader claiming to be Solid Snake. Raiden, a new FOXHOUND recruit, is sent to infiltrate the Big Shell and neutralise the threat, yet it becomes clear he has fallen into an incredibly well spun web of deception.

    Metal Gear Solid: 3

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was originally released in 2005 for the Playstation 2. The game is set in 1964 in the midst of the Cold War. Special agent Naked Snake is sent to Soviet territory on a mission to help a scientist, Sokolov, switch sides to the West. The mission is sabotaged by The Boss, a female soldier otherwise known as the Mother Of Special Forces, who is America's greatest agent and Snake's mentor. The Boss betrays her country when she defects to the Soviet Union, giving them a miniature nuclear warhead which they then launch at a Russian research facility. Meanwhile, an extremist by the name of Colonel Volgin launches an American made missile at the Soviet design bureau, causing an international incident that seems to be leading in to the third World War. In order for America to prove her innocence, Naked Snake is assigned a mission by special forces unit FOX... the mission being to assassinate The Boss.

    Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker

Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker was originally released in 2010 for the PSP, revolutionising hand held gaming. This game tells the tale of a legendary soldier called Naked Snake, a.k.a. Big Boss, during the 1970s, and the truth behind his story in signature third person game play. The game begins after the events that occurred during Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. It's 1974, and Snake has killed his treacherous mentor the Boss, left the United States, and founded Militaires Sans Frontieres (soldiers without borders), which takes on the cases and missions of those who need their help. A certain case finds its way to Big Boss showing that the CIA have invaded Costa Rica, a country without a military to defend them, and that his mentor the Boss may still be alive. Needless to say he takes the case, in order to both stop a Metal Gear from launching nuclear missiles and devastating the world, as well as answer all the questions raised in the aftermath of Snake Eater. As always, your stealth is your greatest weapon. (Cat Emerson)

Metal Gear Solid HD Collection: Limited Edition

I bought the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection as a gift for my boyfriend. I haven't seen him since, so I guess it's a great game. The t-shirt size was perfect. The label says M, but he is a typical L, so I think it's an L. Case and book look great. It is worth the money.

Metal Gear Solid HD Collection: Limited Edition

The Metal Gear Solid franchise has been around over 25 years now, with memorable boss fights and movie-style cutscenes, and now, for the first time, you can play 3 great games at once with achievements to boot. I have already played over 40+ hours, as it's all very addictive, and the peacewalker game also has online mode, where you can play with others or friends, which makes for epic team effort.

    Great Limited Edition

First off, this is a great limited edition of Metal Gear Solid. The outer box has some amazing artwork of the masterpiece series on it. The content inside consists of the game, a limited edition t-shirt, a hard back artwork book which looks fantastic and the Steelbook case of this edition. Everything that comes with this is amazing, especially at the price Zavvi are selling it at, they are also the only UK company selling this product. All in all a great product at a great price with great delivery. Would buy this again and definitely recommend to all.

    Metal Gear Solid as Ever

3 classic games that I can finally play on my Xbox after years of not having a Sony console. These Metal Gear Solid games look great in HD and are still some of the most enjoyable story driven games in existence.

    Fave Limited Edition ever .

Metal Gear Solid HD Collection ooooooozes pure quality. The presentation of the outer box (way better than the USA version), the quality of the t-shirt (medium size.........really Konami, really. What about all us fat 30 somethings that made MGS the franchise it is), and to top it all off the lovely steelbook case and the amazing artwork book. More than worth the price for such brilliant games and extras.

    Metal Gear Solid

I've played the Metal Gear Solid games about a million times (not literally!). Nonetheless, I ordered this collection without hesitation. Now that I've got it, I've been even more enthusiastic about the whole package. The T-Shirt is pretty awesome. I love the series, but I don't like shirts with the name plastered all over it, although this one is clean and has the art you'll find in the art-book as well. The art-book itself is stunning; a book of absolute brilliance. It's amazing to see how everything is designed. Only thing worth mentioning otherwise, is that the HD is excellent. They've really put their hearts into it and I was amazed how good it looked. This collection is absolutely fantastic and I highly recommend it to any Metal Gear Solid fans.

    MGS HD Collection: Limited Edition

Fans of the titles in the HD collection will no doubt be impressed by this package, as three of the best titles in the Metal Gear Solid Collection are revamped in all-new High Definition. It is an understatement to say that Metal Gear Solid HD Limited Edition is a good purchase. With three top-rated games, an exclusive T-shirt, a 250 page premium art book and steel book, you would be hard-pressed to find a fan who would not want to buy this edition at such a reasonable price. Aside from hardcore Metal Gear Solid fans, that already know the games are excellent without question, there are a few people who do not know of the Metal Gear Solid franchise. In short, the Metal Gear Solid collection are more than just mere "games", they are an art form, far from your typical action game genre. Metal Gear Solid meets the point between fantasy and action perfectly, bringing in elements from the supernatural, to modern warfare. Discussing important issues such as loyalty, free will, existence and world problems, is why Metal Gear Solid is more intelligent and profound than any other action game you will play. The combination of story and game play has never been so fine-tuned as with this game. The Metal Gear Solid games have always been more than a simple shooting game. They have a mix of game play, whether it be camouflaging yourself in the jungle in Metal Gear Solid 3, or defusing bombs in Metal Gear Solid 2. Because of each games' diverse stories, players never find game play repetitive in any way. You will always have a new objective which turns out to be different from the last. With an arsenal of weapons, players will find themselves spoiled for choice as they choose between the vast weapons they are given, including C4 explosives, missile launchers and mines. Even with unorthodox items like cardboard boxes and adult magazines, the players have the choice to beat their opponents in more "creative" ways than ever before! Further game play throughout the collection sees you end up in the jungle, faced with many dangerous factors. This scenario brings about the element of having to forage for food to help sustain your life, create traps for your enemies and wild animals, and, as mentioned above, stealthily navigate your way through the richly detailed jungle. These elements are only a sample of what's in store for you when you buy this game. It is these great variations within the Metal Gear Solid games and overall brilliant storyline, that has kept fans hungry for more over the years. In summary, Metal Gear Solid is more than just your 30 minute play on the console. It is what I call an "interactive movie". By this, I mean the game focuses both on game play and story alike, rather than most games which focus solely on game play, and leave you feeling that it was only a game. This is what makes the Metal Gear Solid series stand high as one of the worlds best games franchises.

    Three Snakes One Box

Metal Gear Solid has to be one of the finest series ever to grace gaming consoles. For all fans of the series this is a must buy, and includes not one but three superb games! Metal Gear Solid 2 Son's of Liberty was a genre defining game for the PS2 that is beautifully up scaled with an increased frame rate and stunning graphics. The main story of the game has not only stood the test of time but will surprise and excite gamers new to the series. Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater is quite possibly my favourite Metal Gear. Being the first in the series to introduce the camouflage system gives a dynamic and fun approach to this Cold War Action Adventure. Also included with the two above is the VR special missions. These will leave you with hours worth of gameplay after the main mission is finished. And last but certainly not least is MGS: Peace Walker previously exclusive to the PSP. For those MGS fans who originally didn't have a PSP here is your chance to play something truly great! The game has been adapted to play on 360 and PS3 seamlessly. It also offers a nice change to the current MGS gameplay featured on all previous outings. With fast passed action and different approaches this will leave you craving for more. It also featured four player multiplayer for those fans who want to get together and play co-operatively for the first time in any Metal Gear Solid. The Limited Edition features a brilliant art book, a t-shirt and a steel book all exclusive to Zavvi in the UK. For real fans of the series it shouldn't be a matter of shall I buy this or not? but what order shall I play these in? in order of release (2-3-PW) or chronological order (PW-3-2) Whether your a true fan or new to the series this box includes three of gaming greats in one box for the first time ever in HD. So if your going to buy one HD collection make this the one.

    Gaming at its finest!

The greatest games ever just got better! Relive a huge part of the Metal Gear story in H.D with this awesome collection. The games themselves continually pass the test of time and remain fun to play with a story you love to become immersed in. With the games being the substance and subsistence versions of 2 and 3 they give you loads of additional content to play through including the original Msx games Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake which adds a nostalgic bonus for die hard fans of the series. The art of Metal Gear has always been impressive and with this hardback art book you can view the work of Yoji Shinkawa in all it's glory as well as on the t-shirt included which is of really high quality. Everything in this collection looks great from the H.D graphics to the steelbook case and is a must have collection for old and new fans alike. If you haven't played Metal Gear before there's no better time to start!

A must buy for MGS fans.

This product is an excellent purchase for any MGS fan. The product came in a nice box with the artwork featured on the front, inside I was pleased to find both the steelbook case and the standard edition case which was a nice surprise. The T-shirt looks great and is very comfortable and the 250 page premium art book features page after page of fantastic artwork from Yoji Shinkawa, the famous artist for the series and other Konami titles. Onto the games themselves. Each title has been remastered in HD quality which gives you a crystal clear experience all the way through. Each game is jam packed with content and re-playability. This Collector's edition is great for any big MGS fans. You'll be in for a nostalgic treat!

Metal Gear Solid HD Collection Limited Edition

Back In 2002, I placed Metal Gear Solid 2 into my Playstation 2 and played at that time, one of the best looking games I had ever seen. Forward wind 10 years and I start up Metal Gear. I hear the iconic soundtrack and I get goose bumps. I look to the screen and the game hasn't aged a day. The HD graphics make Solid Snake look incredible. Everything is as it was but so much better. This is a must buy for any Metal Gear fans out there or even people new to the franchise. If you are after a mix of action and stealth then this is your game. Bearing in mind that this is 3 games in 1 making it even better value for money. Bottom line...... You must have this in your collection!!

A Solid Collection! (See what I did?)

HD Collections seem to be all the rage at the moment. But some are better than others. This Metal Gear Collection is definitely one of the better ones thus far. The games MGS2 and MGS3 remain fairly true to the originals as far as audio and controls go, but are now visually beautiful and crisp. My only main complaint about the collection itself is the lack of the first MGS. It seems like it would have been easy to include a HD version of the Gamecube version, Twin Snakes, which already had a graphical overhaul to bring it up to the standards of the games included in the collection. The content for the collectors edition is fantastic! The art book is well made and solid, as well as being a pleasure to look through. The T-shirt is nice quality and came, at least in mine, in a Medium size. All in all, this collection has a few tiny flaws and it only loses a star due to the lack of the first Metal Gear Solid. But ultimately is a must buy that really shouldn't disappoint!

'Solid' return to a great series

I loved these games when they were released and I was excited when a HD Collection was announced and my inner self felt the same excitement that I felt once before. If you haven't played this series before I urge you to purchase it, as it is ones of the most intelligent and fun games you will ever play. If you have played them before, then you know what you're in for and let me tell you, time has not diminished this game in any way! A thoroughly entertaining series, brought together in a brilliant collection, well worth the price tag, in fact, it's a steal!

    METAL GEAR AWESOME

The colourful artwork really stands out and I also found the art book teeming with detail. The game itself is how I remembered it. The first time I picked it up I had to think to remember the controls, but I got used to it again in no time. My only issue with this pack is that the T-shirt is a medium which is a bit small for me.

    Back, and better than ever!

I was hooked on MGS from the moment my friend suggested MGS2 to me. Playing all three in this collection definitely brings back alot of memories, and the updates included in the "HD Collection" are enough to leave the player feeling like they are playing a completely revamped game. This is definitely one to add to the collection, for MGS fans, and newcomers alike.
