Reinvigorated after Resident Evil 4, the celebrated survival horror series makes its first appearance on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Already a successful horror series, Resident Evil 4 was one of the most notable games of last generation. A dramatic change in location and, for its time, some of the best visuals ever seen helped cement its place in game history. Resident Evil 5 continues the tightly-scripted action sequences and original locales, now taking place in the heart of Africa. Series veteran Chris Redfield returns to fight the virus outbreak with new partner Sheva, who can now be controlled by a second player in co-operative play both online and off.
A few changes have been made to the formula, however – most notably a streamlined control system. Taking inspiration from modern Western action titles, players now have much more control over their character, with strafing that allows for tighter movements and weapon selection that can be used during gameplay. Fans of the more old-fashioned controls can still switch back as and when they choose.
Continuing on the successes of the series, Resident Evil 5 sticks to its new focus on action inspired horror.

Co-op gaming great
It's great game at a great price. The game play is mostly shooting, some simple puzzle solving and has epic boss battles that go along nicely with the narrative. The support you get from your partner is an integral part of the game as you help each other fight off enemies, solve puzzles and recover from injury. It is best played with a friend either on the same console or over Xbox live as the AI-player can sometimes be a little annoying (but still enjoyable to play). The lasting appeal continues outside of the story mode as mercenaries makes for a great challenge where you face waves of the infected trying to neutralise as many as possible in the time. This game is a must for anyone looking for a two player cooperative shooter to add to their collection!
