The Darkness II is the sequel to the critically-acclaimed 2007 release, The Darkness, and features an original story by acclaimed comic writer Paul Jenkins.
It’s been two years since Jackie Estacado, now Don of the Franchetti crime family, used The Darkness to kill the men responsible for his girlfriend’s murder. He’s been unable to shake the memory of Jenny’s death since bottling up his supernatural power and now The Darkness wants out.
A sudden, unprovoked attack on Jackie’s life heralds the start of a full-scale mob war which has clearly been orchestrated by some outside force. The botched attempt opens the door for The Darkness to re-emerge, and sets Jackie on a journey to hell and worse as he unravels the mystery behind the attack and the motivations of The Darkness itself.

Good game overall!
The Darkness 2.... so far, it's a great game. But it lost some magic, compared to the first entry of the series (no exploring the city; taking side quests; snaking around with your darkness powers) but it got more gory, with all the different execution moves. The graphics are good in their own way, changing to cell shaded look suited the comic character of The Darkness. Including Vendetta mode you have 2 storylines you can play through, though Vendettas are meant to be played coop online, you can still pretty easy get through it in offline mode. Single player story is great, and overall its a good game thats worth a play through or two.

Great sequel of great game
For me this is one of the most interesting experience of the current generation. The first game got me by surprise with a great dark history an interesting game play. If you are one of those guys who are bored of "first person soldiers game" like me, this would be your game.

Good game with a few shortcomings
The Darkness II is an interesting game with a few bumps along the road. The graphics resemble Borderlands and are good and so is the story, although it's a bit short. The best parts are gameplay, with quad-wielding as an easy to get used to system that lets you have fun with your enemies. Furthermore, you can now upgrade your abilities by using the exp points gained through killing enemies - the cooler the kill, the more exp. Co-op is enjoyable too, with four very different characters with unique abilities and weapons and challenging fights. Worth a try if you like horror and goth.

The Darkness II Review
The Darkness II has a very good storyline, complimented by a well balanced control scheme, and although the main story is fairly short it is still very enjoyable. The co-op mode also has something to offer, and I would highly recommend this game!
