The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition (Zavvi Exclusive)

As it was originally a PC based RPG, The Witcher 2 was a little daunting mechanics-wise when I first picked up my controller, with me not really being into the more 'hardcore' RPGs. This was relatively short-lived as within minutes of the opening. The story is widely lauded as a very mature one that is well aimed at its audience (adults) and rightly so, I believe I am now about 1/4 of the way through the story and it is a dark tale of murder and deciet, crammed with sizzling Gypsies. You can really tell that the graphics and engine have been rewritten for the console release, as they merge with the consoles abilities and control scheme perfectly while remaining uncompromising in its scope. While there was some slight hiccups getting to grips with the combat, once I got into the swing of things (pun intended) the sword based combat quickly became deeply satisfying, whether cleaving the heads from monsters or men, with the 'signs' becoming very helpful in a pinch. With the extremely competent story, believable characters and solid gameplay I can easily see this game becoming one of my favourites this generation, I just hope the sales will justify a port of the original aswell... And here's to the hopeful sequel.

The Witcher 2 is a must have for RPG fans, and a good game overall, with a solid quest system, combat system and awesome storyline. It's not completely free roaming like The Elder Scrolls saga, but its plot-based exploration system is a good alternative. In the end, I recommend this game to all RPG fans, but not to people searching an easy-to-play game.

Wow, what a game The Witcher 2 is. I spent all weekend playing it, and it wasn't time wasted at all. The story pulls you into the wonderful world of fantasy. There's dwarfs, monsters, elves and dragons, all of which, have found their place in this game really effortlessly. The mechanics of the game are very fluid. The fighting is somewhat easier, but it is still a challenge. After crossing the game, you will only want more and more. It's true that the game has some bad textures, animations and popups, but this does not diminish its value. All fans of the RPG genre should have this game in their collection. Simple.

Geralt of Rivia returns and he does it in a fairly good fashion, in The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. It hasn't been too long since the events of the original Witcher game, and Geralt is stuck playing King Foltests lucky charm after saving his life from an assassination attempt. That's the beginning of this interesting storyline and fascinating gameplay that has at least kept me intrigued for hours.

Not skyrim, but still great

So it's not Skyrim, but after completing Mass effect 3 I wanted some fun. This was great. Good graphics and gameplay, fun characters and an adult aimed game. I finished it and was left hoping the sequel is here's soon. Drunk dwarfs, annoying elves, evil witches, and a choice of actions. Try it out

Fans of Skyrim and Game of Thrones will love this dark fantasy epic in which your decisions shape the story of the game and characters you care about. The fighting is brutal and fast but requires the use of all of the witchers skills as you carve your way through men and monsters alike. Fans of fantasy RPG's will love this game and the 360 has not seen an original RPG like this in its life-time, buy now!
