Having practised martial arts for some time (including MMA), I'm very happy with this game. I don't know who each fighter is, I don't know their history, and I don't really care, all I expect from a game that claims to be realistic is just that: punches, elbows, knees, kicks, clinches, grappling. I have seen most of them in real action and practised some too, and they seem just like the real thing. Game-play is mostly intuitive, and the submission mini-game makes it easy to start with, even with pro controls. Pity the attention is on the mini-game instead of the submission animation, because techniques as Kimura, American, triangle choke, etc are so nicely done. The work the developers have done is impressive. The only but is the sway, that requires somewhat more practice to pull it right, but all in all, this is an excellent game.
If you like fighting sports, then you can't miss UFC Undisputed 3. It looks complicated at first, but the tutorial is wonderfully made, it explains step-by-step everything that you'll need to play. The gameplay is just awesome, without dead times and full of suspence, playing with a friend is simply the funniest thing in this world, in a word this game is so good.
Superb continuation of the franchise. Highlights: * Pride mode! Never expected this to appear in a UFC game, but it's great fun, and fits in really well. * Roster size. Many greats from today and from the Pride days, lots of interesting fights to have. * AI. The AI provides a real challenge now, I've yet to move up to the hardest difficulty. * Between-round tips. This is really helpful, and actually tells you how to do some of the advanced things like transition delays or cancellation. * Improved career mode. They've streamlined the career mode, removing all of the repetitive actions and attribute decay. It really does get you focused on the fights. * Motion-captured techniques. I think there were some in the previous game, but most of the roster have their moves motion-captured in UFC 3.
