I have used this console, and let me re-assure you, this is definetely the best Next-gen console on the market. One of the reason is definetely the price, it is quite low, comparing to xbox. Second reason is the fact that it is extremely powerful, it has 8GB of unified memory, an AMD proccessor which is more than capable of running the highest end games (Previous consoles had less that 1GB memory). And the third reason is that PS4 has a very good User Interface, which will allow for ease of navigation. It will also run all the games on 1080p whilst most of Xbox titles run on 720p.
So I'm a college student, I have not got much money, I saved up since June to buy this console, and I have to say it was 100% worth it.. I went out of my way to clean, do leaflet rounds for the summer, and then more after, and it was really worth the time I did to earn the money to buy this! If your debating on getting one, then just go for it, trust me, you will not regret it its a 1 time buy for along time, and you'll get so much out of it, the graphics are amazing, its great to watch tv on, and the controller is just so good [ better than the xbox 360 ] just saying =3 I would 100% recommend this to my friends and gamer's , buy it =3
After weeks of trying to decide xbox1 or ps4, countless videos, reviews and watching E3 a couple times I opted for the ps4. The games look and play great. I have been playing Fifa and Battlefield most, I have need for speed but don't like it (not for me). I also have Assassins Creed and it looks excellent. If you have a high quality tv (1080) the ps4 will look even better. Dualshock4 controller - Its really good so much better than the ps3 dualshock. I had a 360 before the ps4 so the controller was a big thing for me as it will no doubt be for any xbox gamers going for ps4. I still think the xbox1 controller will edge it I prefer the Analog stick above the D-pad rather than how it is on the ps controller but that may just be me and specific to games I play where sometimes you need to use the D-pad quickly. Anyway the dualshock4 is still great and feels nice to handle, it's the perfect weight and the triggers feel good also. The console - Ps4 console looks great as well and its no too big either. It makes a bit of noise on start up and when loading a game then once you are loaded up its just about silent. You can navigate from game to home screen in an instant and the home screen interface is easy to use. Game loading time is fast as well. The headset - An in ear bud, just the one side with mic. No volume control you have to control the volume from the settings menu. It does the job but If you are playing online a lot got for a better headset PSN - I have mostly played Fifa (and need for speed for about 1 hour) and it runs well all except from the EA servers (nightmare). The only thing I don't like about online is going about sending friends requests to invite to join a game or a chat party, to ps3 gamers this won't be much different form what you are used to but xbox gamers like myself will notice that xbox live and the whole interface is superior to ps4's and slightly more user friendly. With that being said though it still works fine just not as well. Only other thing I can think to add is that there is no daft power block like with the xbox360 and no doubt xb1 which is a real bonus especially if you have a tv on the wall or if your cables in behind tv, sky box, whatever you have cannot be hidden that well. Overall I am delighted with my choice and love my ps4. Get one !!
Very pleased with purchase. Reserved on line in September giving credit card details. Not charged until dispatched at end of November. Excellent email communication and tracking of parcel. Came sooner than expected. Son incredibly pleased as had PS4 before most of his friends. Haven't seen much of him past 10 days. Faultless service from Zavvi.
The ps4 is a huge step forward for a console. Good graphics, good sound, excellent controller. On turning on the unit, it doesn't sound like jet taking off like my old Xbox did. The only real let down is that the controllers battery life is really short, around 6 hours before a recharge is needed. In all a great buy, and with some of the games arriving at the start of next year, looks like it will be the goto console for all gamers.
I pre-ordered this console pretty quickly in anticipation as I am a big Playstation fan, gaming since the PS1 era and I was not disappointed. To start with, the controller is definitely the best controller yet. It is slightly bigger, addressing issues many people had with the PS3 controller so you have better grip and the analogue sticks have been vastly improved too. The controller also includes a touchpad, which I wasn't a big fan of when I heard of its inclusion, but on use it doesn't get in the way and with some games, such as Killzone: Shadow Fall, it is very innovative. The console itself is much smaller than you might think. It is slightly smaller than the PS3 slimline model and is very light, so it won't take up much space and won't be too burdening to carry if you ever need to. It has gorgeous graphics and lots of RAM so it is a speedy console and the interface is very friendly and easy to use. A magnificent feature is that you can start playing a game before it is fully installed, which is a lifesaver. Some consoles have had problems, as you may have heard, but mine is working fine after two weeks and two of my friends have PS4's and they have not had any issues either. It has all the media features you would expect, such as BBC iPlayer and Lovefilm and many more to be added in the near future. The hard drive is 500GB, which in my opinion is quite small, it will likely fit around 12 retail games, but fortunately you can install a bigger hard drive if you wish but external hard drives won't be compatable. You will need PS+ to play some games online, such as Call of Duty, but do not be dismayed by the £40 a year price as it is well worth it! It also allows you to download many games free off of the PlayStation Store on the PS3, PS4 and PS Vita and I got my moneysworth instantly by downloading two games for the PS3. The PS4 may sound expensive at £349 but when you consider the Xbox One is £429 and that the PS3 on release was £599 then the PS3 is, in my opinion, priced reasonably. Xbox One probably has better games at the moment but PlayStation, in my opinion make much better exclusive games and in the future it will have many fantastic games justifying your purchase, though you wouldn't be blamed if you waited a while before you bought one. In conclusion the PS4 is a great console that is in its early days at the moment and can only improve in time, though at the moment there aren't a large amount of games available, in the near future there certainly will be, and you will be glad you made the investment.
The design of the consul is much better looking than the PS3....the games controller is slightly bigger than the PS3's, and it's a lot better than the previous model.......it also comes with a HDMI cable which is a nice touch....also you get some ear phones which plug into the controller....another clever idea.......the actual quality of the graphics are superb.......marks out ten.......I would give it a 10
Very pleased with the console. It looks amazing, very slim design. Graphics are unreal and the game play is very smooth and responsive. The new controller is 100 times better then the ps3 version, and fits perfect in your hand. On downside I think the interface could do with changing but decently worth 10 out of 10.
I have had the PS4 since launch date and it is a good machine, the issues however are; no real games out yet for you to play that give you the wow factor, I only have FIFA 14 which is a marked improvement on FIFA 13 which I had on the PS3 but really it should be as it is the next step up (haven't got any other comparison though) I'm sure more startling games will be out in time however. Biggest big bear however is not being able to use it to play my movie collection on! Something that the PS3 had and was good at, where is the progress in that??? I have read reviews to say this will come however, just very disappointing it's not there yet!
I decided I should. The first thing you noticed is the sleek 'wedge' that is the PS4. The touch sensitive power on button powers up fairly quitely with a blue/white/orange l.e.d light (depending) on what the console is doing a bit like K.I.T.T on Knightrider. The menu, if you've had a PS3 will be familiar territory. You are able to easily select what you wish to do with a crisp, minimal menu. So far, I have only played Killzone: Shadow Fall and a blu-ray. The games graphics are excellent (a clear step up from the PS3) with more going on at any one time. It's very immersive with no drop in framerates. I believe it will take 6-12 months for the game developers to fully unleash the power of this gaming behemoth but it's looking like a good investment so far. Jump in.
Well, it's a great gaming console, but if you think that it can replace your PS3 as a home media player, then you'll be disappointed. There's no DLNA ability and you cannot play MP3's on it (apart from online services). Yes all the BBC iplayer and ITV player and Lovefilm are there, but nothing to run your own content. I guess Sony will get around to adding these features.
I've been using my ps4 for hulu, crunchyroll and Netflix. Due to the multiple accounts this is still possible. Out of the box there are 5 potential games. 2 free with psn plus (a must buy with free games for ps3, 4 and vita), 2 free to play games- dc universe and war frame. And a cross buy option for flower. I would also highly suggest buying Lego marvel superheroes. This will be a wonderful machine in the long run and got the rest of your needs-buy a pc.
