Masterpiece
One of Bresson's most challenging character studies. The titular girl is perhaps unlikable, but worthy of study and empathy.

Cult film
I did enjoy this film, without going into too much detail it is quite a sad film and I can't think of too many others like this that really make you feel for the main character. At times it feels like you become so attached to the young girl that you become to realise that you as the viewer are an outsider too. You empathise so much with her that you start to wonder will she ever escape her awful life. I will definitely watch the film again, maybe I will even appreciate the subject matter more so.
