Spiders 3D Blu Ray
Spiders 3D is a shockingly bad film on all fronts. Acting, script, sets, 3D, special effects, everything. I know this was never going to be a critically acclaimed film, but I was expecting an entertaining 3D monster flick. Instead, I just got a horribly cheap, straight to Horror Channel affair that is currently getting churned out at a frantic pace. Now I love 3D Blu-rays but this was the first time I ever turned off the 3D and watched the rest of the film (regretfully!) in 2D. It's surprising seeing as the movie was actually shot in 3D and is not a conversion. I don't know what set up they used when shooting it, but it's not like any of the recent 3D Blu-rays I have in my collection and it's unwatchable. The old 3D movies that used the 'red/green' cardboard glasses has better 3D effects! I found it hard to focus my eyes on the picture and at times the characters just look like they're superimposed into the shot and not actually there at all. Needless to say the acting is bad and the actors look like they don't even want to be there themselves. Upon watching the credits, it looks like most of the movie was shot somewhere in eastern Europe (Bulgaria If I remember) doubling for New York city! Avoid like the plague. You'd be more entertained watching real spiders under a microscope for an hour and a half!!
