the theory put into practice

The story of Stephen Hawking, a man with a brilliant mind trapped in a body suffering from motor neuron disease, may not be everyone's cup of tea but stick with it. Based on a true story, Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne plays the scientist from his university years onwards. He meets Jane Wilde (Felicity Jones) and falls in love. However, fate throws him a curve ball when he is diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease, a muscle wasting disease that effects everything apart from his intellect. Originally given two years to live, Hawking decides to fight it. The film tells his story. A touching and inspiring tale brilliantly acted by the two leads. For once, I agree with the Academy when they awarded Redmayne the Oscar for best actor. The transformation he undergoes from able bodied individual to wheelchair bound is amazing.

An inspiring story of Stephan Hawking

I didn't think I was going to enjoy this movie as I thought it would be too sad to watch. The way the film was written however, you just ended up amazed on what a person can achieve with whatever life throws at them, what a person can achieve and overcome. This is an inspiring tale of Stephan Hawking and Jane, two young people who fell in love just as Stephan was experiencing early symptoms of his neurological disease. This was a fantastic, sad and moving film, well deserving of its awards!
